Story & Lesson Highlights with Rof Roc

We recently had the chance to connect with Rof Roc and have shared our conversation below.

Rof , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity as a word it self cannot be downplayed in anyway. I believe what we do as professionals or career people all boils down to the integrity with which things are executed. That said, integrity will open more doors of opportunity because it was always guides me to know that people are watching and I need to show them my works through truthfulness and facts based.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My brand Rof Roc which loosely means “rough diamond” can best be described as a germ in the dirt. The focus of the brand is to tell the African story in a different way that has been told before. Africa is blessed with enormous cultural sides and attractions.

What makes my interesting is the focus on original content creation evolving around the uniqueness of Africa and blacks in the diaspora. Not leaving out anything interesting that is worth talking about.

Over the years, my brand has been specially known to produce and promote top notch and quality content.

Rof Roc is unique in many ways, blending photography and videography along the way.

Been at national events also affords me the opportunity to mingle with industry people in real time which has also become associated with my brand.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Mostly the bond between two people would be broken if the relationship is one sided and beneficial to only one person.

Also situations like betrayal of trust can also be a conduit for breaking of bonds between people.

When a bond is broken, both sides need recognize the fact that things aren’t how it used to be. By admitting one’s fault means coming to the understanding that people are valuable regardless of position.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Becoming an adult has opened my eye to the fact that no one will really do anything for you.

One kind thing I will say to my younger self is never give in to negative sentiments because it doesn’t make you grow mentally.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The creative industry in Ghana keeps growing on a slow pace which is a fact exhibited by the continues domination.

Being in the good books of government officials is one of the many lies the industry tells itself.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I should fold up and stop content creation today, my customers and followers will miss originality and the celebration of the rich African story.
