Story & Lesson Highlights with Rosemarine of West Hollywood, CA

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rosemarine. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Rosemarine, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to be visible. The very thought of this has subconsciously irked me throughout my life … the thought of being seen as myself and not some idealization has been one of my biggest fears.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Rosemarine and my friends and family call me Rose/Rosie. I started writing music when I was a pre-teen and began recording my music in 2010. In 2019 I moved to Los Angeles where I would release demos from my music project titled ISLAND LIFE, perform at live shows, and collaborate with fellow creatives.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest memory I have of this powerful feeling is probably one of the earliest memories I have of myself. I was in kindergarten performing on stage with my class. I remember looking straight at my mom and dad in the audience while singing; “This Land is your Land, this Land is my land — from California to the New York Islands — from the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters, this land was made for you and me!”

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You hold the stars all your ancestors wished upon.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My best friend:husband, Mike Campbell.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My voice and sense of humor.
