We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rosetta Taylor-Metz. Check out our conversation below.
Rosetta, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Before I get out of bed, I count backward from 100 to 0, and tell myself that every day is getting better and better. I then remind myself that I will feel calm throughout my day and that everything is good. Then I get a cup of coffee and enjoy it on my back deck, watching the sunrise with the birds. Finally, I go for a 4 to 5-mile run.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Rosetta Taylor-Metz. I help people sort through their dreams, disappointments, regrets, happiness, and reality, offering them peace of mind. Joyologist; I am the CEO/ Founder of Lettuce Organize®, a recognized service that organizes people’s homes and workplaces in the Chicagoland area. I am skilled in organizational assessment and planning, workflow analysis, process mapping, home organizing, decluttering, staging, and assisting with the chronic disorganization of others. I hold an MLS, previously worked as a Librarian, and earned my Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) certification.
I am the youngest of eleven, and growing up in a household of thirteen was an interesting “sandbox” from which to learn and grow. I have always been drawn to organizing people, spaces, and information, along with creating simple solutions to solve problems and make things more efficient and easy. Using my SSBB, I uniquely apply many of these concepts to home organizing, helping my clients simplify and maintain their day-to-day routines. I believe these concepts not only work in the business world but also can be applied to nearly anything we do in life.
Our slogan is, “Lettuce Organize your tomorrow so you can enjoy today.” ℠
Finally, I recently wrote a book, The Joy Journey: Discover what drives you to live well and fully.
I am currently developing new workshops that reflect the exercises throughout the book, helping my readers transition from exhaustion, overwhelm, and self-doubt to clarity, confidence, and lasting joy. Created with deep empathy and insight, it offers practical tools and encouragement to support emotional healing and personal growth.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A fun-loving kid who loved to be around people and laughter. Always loved trying new things. I found that kid again. And I continue to strive for that fun-loving, kind self and to surround myself with the people I love. Along with laughter and fun times ahead!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are loved, and with that, you can do anything.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Family, friends, and helping others.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If immortality were real, what would you build?
Working with others, build an all-inclusive space to enjoy outdoor activities, gardening, hiking, swimming, sports, etc., along with indoor activities as well, such as art, music, dance, singing, etc. This space would also have various levels of education for learning and teaching others. These spaces already exist, and building more would be amazing.
