Story & Lesson Highlights with Sasha Mirage ( Aldredge) of London United Kingdom 🇬🇧

We recently had the chance to connect with Sasha Mirage ( Aldredge) and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sasha, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Since joining SIX The Musical on the UK & Ireland Tour as Catherine of Aragon, my days have found a lovely rhythm. I usually wake around 9:30 a.m. and ease into the morning by reading for about twenty-five minutes — right now, I’m deep into Atomic Habits. It’s such a grounding way to start the day. After that, I take a few moments to journal, reflecting on life, the things I need to let go of, and the mindset I want to carry forward.

Once my mind feels clear, I’ll scroll through Instagram photography pages to see who’s creating inspiring work and who I might want to connect with for future shoots. From there, depending on how I’m feeling, I’ll either stretch again or head to the gym for a workout. I love running, though I must admit — I avoid it when it’s too cold. A queen has to be careful with her knees, after all!

When I arrive at the theatre, I start my makeup routine. We have to be show-ready two hours before curtain, but I usually arrive early. I like to take my time — apply my makeup, have some lunch (usually a salad, a home-cooked meal, or fish and chips), enjoy the process, and do a light stretch before warm-up. Performing takes so much energy, so keeping my body loose and strong throughout the day really matters to me.

After the show, I unwind with a long, relaxing bath — it’s my favorite way to end the day and let my body recover from all the movement and music. Sometimes I’ll have a little snack and a mini fifteen-minute stretch session before bed. It’s the perfect ritual before I do it all again tomorrow.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Sasha Mirage! 💫

I’m a performer and model with a lifelong passion for the stage, the spotlight, and storytelling through art. My journey began when I was just seven years old, walking the runway at my church’s fashion shows and soon performing in local Christmas and Halloween pageants in my hometown — where I’d sing, model, and bring each moment to life.

As I grew, track and field became another stage for me. My dedication to running earned me a university spot, where I proudly led my team for all four years. Though my Olympic dreams didn’t unfold as I once imagined, that chapter opened the door to something even greater — the stage.

In 2016, I began performing on cruise ships as a lead singer, dancer, and all-around entertainer. Each performance reignited my love for connecting with people through music and movement. Modeling remained a constant companion through it all, blending seamlessly with my identity as a performer.

Then came 2025 — a year of transformation. Taking a leap of faith, I moved to the United Kingdom and joined the UK & Ireland Tour of SIX The Musical as Catherine of Aragon. That opportunity changed everything — not just my career, but my confidence in knowing how much more I’m capable of achieving.

I’m a firm believer in hard work and consistency. Yes, it’s cliché to say, but my drive keeps me grounded and growing. My brand is built on performance and modeling — two worlds that allow me to embody strength, grace, and authenticity.

I’ve learned to never fear the word “no.” To me, it simply means another door is opening. And as I continue to grow, I’m excited to keep inspiring others to chase their dreams — with passion, resilience, and a touch of glamour. ✨.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My father, Gaylon Aldredge, and my late uncle, Dr. James Aldredge, are two of the most hardworking men I’ve ever known. Their examples have shaped not only my work ethic but also the way I see purpose and perseverance in life.

My uncle James was a remarkable man — a professional businessman and a visionary leader who dedicated his life to uplifting others. A Fresno resident since the age of four, he poured his heart into his community. From his early days as Assistant City Manager to becoming Fresno’s first Black City Manager, his leadership was rooted in integrity, service, and an unwavering commitment to progress. Earning his Ph.D. in Public Administration, he went on to teach and mentor future leaders, using his platform to inspire change and advocate for equity. His resilience and grace in the face of adversity — especially as a Black man navigating systemic racism — taught me that with hard work, communication, and ambition, we can reach the highest levels of success.

My father, too, has been a pillar of strength in my life. His story is one of quiet dedication and sacrifice. After marrying my mother, he worked tirelessly to provide for our family — often pulling long nights but still showing up for me every single day. Whether it was cheering me on at track practice or teaching me that “hard work pays off once you’ve gone through the mud,” my dad embodied consistency and love. Watching him push through exhaustion yet always make time for his family set a powerful standard for the kind of person — and woman — I strive to be.

Both of these men instilled in me the values of perseverance, excellence, and compassion. They taught me that success means nothing without purpose, and that true strength lies in service and love for others. I like to think of myself as a sassy version of them — driven, disciplined, but also full of heart.

Following in my uncle’s footsteps, I plan to pursue my Ph.D., focusing on caring for and uplifting children. My dream is to create a brighter future for young Black girls and boys — to remind them that even if the world doesn’t always love them as they deserve, there will always be someone who does. And I’ll do everything I can to pour into them the same love, belief, and resilience that my father and uncle poured into me.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I chose this question because it made me feel something. It’s important to me because everyone’s answer to it will always be different — deeply personal and shaped by their own journey. For me, suffering has been one of my greatest teachers. It taught me patience. It taught me gratitude. And it taught me to take people for who they truly are when they show up.

Now, as a proud woman in my early thirties, I can say this road hasn’t been the easiest — but it’s been real, and it’s been mine. I wasn’t raised to be a survivor; I had to learn how to become one. My parents did a wonderful job raising me, but the lessons in resilience and pain — those were mine to figure out. I often say I had to learn how to suffer, because many people experience suffering but never learn to move through it. They become so used to the pain that they forget there’s light waiting at the end of the tunnel — you just have to keep working to reach it.

I believe suffering and success go hand in hand. One cannot exist without the other. Without struggle, success loses meaning. And if success comes too easily, you never learn how to navigate or appreciate it. On the other hand, if all you ever know is suffering, you can get stuck — running in circles like a hamster on a wheel, mistaking movement for progress.

Suffering has taught me to be grateful for everything I have, and to be wise about what I keep. Save for a rainy day, celebrate small wins, and yes — treat yourself to a cute wig or a photo shoot every now and then! (Balance is key, after all.)

At the end of the day, suffering shaped me — not into someone hardened by life, but into someone deeply aware of its beauty.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public’s version of me is still a version of me — just not the whole story. I don’t think we ever truly show our real selves until someone has taken the time to know us. That requires conversation, consistency, and trust.

For me, I tend to keep my guard up when I’m out in the world. Through learning to persevere in the face of suffering, I created a persona — a mask — as a form of protection. I allow people to think they know me, to assume they can predict my next move or understand my thoughts. And I let them, because that illusion keeps my true self safe. It allows me to exist, create, and move through the world without being fully exposed.

The truth is, the world can be a wicked place. It doesn’t always embrace kindness or honesty. I learned that early — back when I was eighteen and just starting college. That was the moment I decided the world would only meet the masked version of Sasha Mirage.

Because at the end of the day… it’s all a mirage — until it’s not.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Building an Empire with Purpose

I’m building an empire — not just for myself, but for my unborn son, and for my husband and me to create a life where we can earn even in our sleep. My next chapter is about establishing stability, legacy, and impact. I want to ensure my family is safe, secure, and thriving — but beyond that, I want other children and families to feel seen, supported, and inspired.

At my core, I’m about people. I care deeply for the masses and believe in using my voice to stand for what’s right. I’m not afraid to speak up or extend a hand — because what’s right is right, and what’s wrong is wrong.

In the next seven to ten years, I want my work to reflect that truth — to turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s victories. My dream is to be part of the change that transforms wrongs into rights, and to build something that lasts for generations to come.
