Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity: let’s commence with the definition. The quality of being honest and possessing robust moral principles; moral uprightness. Recently, I have been compelled to reassess the individuals and business practices in my life, and I have discovered that those who uphold honesty and good morals consistently demonstrate integrity, which I find admirable. Notably, numerous successful individuals have stated that if someone cheats on their spouse, they are likely to engage in unscrupulous business practices, as they have demonstrated a willingness to deceive those closest to them. This raises questions about trustworthiness, as a breach of contract in personal relationships can be indicative of a lack of integrity. I have made a conscious decision to prioritize honesty, uphold high principles, and maintain moral uprightness, as these values are essential in both personal and professional life. Therefore, integrity is a fundamental aspect that I choose to uphold.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, esteemed gentlemen and ladies. If you are unfamiliar with my name, I am Shaunice Rene, also known as Misty Blue. Life took an unexpected turn when I became a teenage mother, but instead of succumbing to adversity, I sought out the most enjoyable activities. After some deliberation, I combined my passion for music and beauty. I firmly believe that these two aspects are intertwined and inseparable. Who among us hasn’t put on their favorite song while showering, reading a book, meditating, or preparing for a special occasion? Music has the power to set the tone. When I’m not styling my discerning clients, I sing with my band, and I can attest that getting ready requires a curated playlist. As Misty Blue, I must always present myself impeccably, and silence simply won’t suffice. This realization led me to ponder how I could provide my clients with a unique shopping experience that combines music and beauty. Thus, I decided to create an online platform where you can shop for beauty products and music in one convenient location. Can Misty B Beauty be your premier destination for beauty and music?

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I once believed my voice was insignificant, but I have discovered its profound impact. I used to think I was destined to suffer in silence, believing no one understood my love. I felt designed to fail, but one day I decided I didn’t need anyone’s validation. The fear of speaking up no longer holds me back, and I have overcome years of abuse and grooming within my own family. Looking at my children’s faces, I knew I had to be their voice, their guiding light. I am committed to teaching them the power of their voice, to be fearless, and to know that Mommy is always here. It pains me that many children are silenced, but I am determined to be the change. I celebrate my uniqueness and refuse to let others dim my light. My voice is now heard, and I hope to inspire millions. With my voice, I am breaking the silence, empowering children, and igniting a movement of change.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
I always knew I’d rise above one day and never have to face the darkness of others. I was a little under 12 and experienced molestation. All I wanted to do was grow up and have children so I could prove to myself that good, loving parents and places exist. Prayer was always my guiding light; no matter how scared I was, I knew one day I’d be free.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My flower child foundation is dedicated to empowering families of children born to parents with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. Having experienced firsthand the significance of a robust support system during difficult times, I am committed to making a difference. It is disheartening to hear about children and families struggling to access resources and support. However, I am determined to expand my outreach and collaborate with like-minded individuals who share my passion for giving and supporting. My niece’s birth and her parents’ inability to care for her was a turning point for me, sparking a vision to create positive change in my community. While beauty and music bring joy, being part of someone’s journey and providing support during challenging times is a true passion that drives me. I am dedicated to ensuring that my foundation continues to thrive long after I am gone, providing families with the resources they need. I firmly believe that the innocence of a child should not be compromised due to their parents’ limitations. They deserve to experience all the goodness the world has to offer. You can call me AunnieMa, and I am here to support my babies and their families.
