Story & Lesson Highlights with Sheida Jenkins of Washington DC, Online

We recently had the chance to connect with Sheida Jenkins and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheida, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What battle are you avoiding?
I try to avoid overwhelming situations that could harm my safety or well being. Nothing is more important than your mental health!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sheida Jenkins, I’m a part-time travel blogger and advisor, providing expert tips on destinations, accommodations, flights, and more.
I’m also the founder of the jewelry brand Harmony & Co with a wide variety of beautiful pieces, working since 2004.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
There hasn’t been a single defining moment, rather, it’s been a lifelong journey of continuous self-improvement. I am grateful for the effort I’ve invested in becoming a better version of myself, and I’ve also learned valuable lessons from my mistakes along the way. These experiences have shaped my perspective and helped me build a stronger future.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience, empathy, and patience. Lessons that success alone cannot provide. It revealed the depth of my strength and helped me appreciate genuine growth beyond achievements. I learned that life is tough, but so am i, and I can overcome any challenge as long as I stay focused and consistent.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I think my public version is the real me but not all of me. The public versions may not capture every aspect of who we are internally. I truly prefer having genuine connections over looking perfect.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people recall my kindness, loyalty, and my sense of humor that brought some lightness to their day.
