We recently had the chance to connect with Shenelle Roebuck and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Shenelle , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Recently, I was contacted by the Better Business Bureau as an identified business that they saw upheld their values. Knowing that my core values for my business are built into not only my character but the framework of my business, I was proud to be recognized. I was accepted as a new business with the Better Business Bureau in July 2025.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, trauma-trained therapist, and EMDR provider, as well as an empowerment and wellness coach. My work bridges mental health and entrepreneurship through two core programs as well as therapy. . I Luv Me Some Me is a women’s empowerment and healing program, a love letter to my own journey, that guides women to step out of the shadows, embrace self-love, and reclaim their voices with confidence. Mind My Business Coaching builds on that foundation, helping entrepreneurs address mindset and wellness struggles that are keeping them stagnant in their business.
As a brand, we approach wellness as both a remedy and a resource, something that eases pain while also strengthening and sustaining growth. We address topics like trauma, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, scarcity mindset, self-doubt, people-pleasing, perfectionism, burnout, and unhealed trauma. We provide the resources that allow women and entrepreneurs to thrive: abundance, resilience, authentic self-expression, sustainable success, embrace self-love, self-worth, and authentic confidence. What makes my work unique is that I don’t just teach these concepts, I live them and I hold space for my clients to do the same.
I’m expanding both my therapy and coaching offerings through journals, courses, and group and individual programs so that more women and entrepreneurs have access to healing, empowerment, and the tools to succeed. My mission is simple: to help people, especially women, heal, grow, and thrive in every area of their lives.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to play small, that my powerful voice couldn’t be heard, and that I needed to conform to other people’s expectations. This belief created a deep fear of being seen, heard, and validated. I was shy, so I avoided speaking up, tried not to rock the boat, and even felt uncomfortable with praise. While I didn’t lack confidence, I wasn’t loud, I simply did what needed to be done. Perfectionism also showed up strongly in my life. I felt I couldn’t speak or execute tasks until I was absolutely certain I was right, which often held me back.
But today, I choose differently. I embrace progress over perfection, I allow myself to launch it ugly and correct along the way. I use my voice to speak my truth, and I honor my whole self without apology. I no longer play small—I show up fully as me.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most in life was the fear of being truly seen and validated. For a long time, I felt that if I stood out or used my voice, I might be judged or rejected. That fear often showed up as perfectionism, trying to make sure everything was flawless before I spoke up, shared an idea, or put myself forward. It kept me cautious and sometimes delayed my progress. Over time, I’ve learned that growth comes from being visible, taking risks, and allowing myself to be imperfect. Today, I lean into my joyful badass energy knowing that my authenticity is the key to my success and what matters is that I have done my best.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. At the end of the day, I’m human, and in the world of therapy and coaching, authenticity is non-negotiable. People want to work with someone they can relate to and trust. What I’ve found is that my authenticity invites my clients to bring their full selves into our work, creating a space where they feel safe, both psychologically and emotionally.
One of my greatest successes has been developing the I Luv Me Some Me program, which I often describe as my love letter to my own healing. It’s as raw and real as it gets, because it reflects the exact steps I took to step out of the shadows of my comfort zone. That was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I’m a firm believer in practicing what I preach; if I’m not willing to do the work myself, I won’t ask my clients to. My goal is always to see them thrive and be set up for success, and that begins with the way I choose to show up authentically, consistently, and wholeheartedly.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I hope people tell about me when I’m gone is that I made a difference in the world through empowerment and wellness. That my integrity always spoke first, and that it was matched with care and compassion, even when I had to tell the truth in a way that wasn’t always easy to hear. I want to be remembered as someone who supported others on their journey to self-discovery, self-love, and healing, and that through our partnership, they were able to move closer to the life they truly wanted. For me, that legacy of impact and transformation would mean everything.
