Story & Lesson Highlights with Stephy Lee of Austin Texas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stephy Lee. Check out our conversation below.

Stephy , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building my Record Company No Te Quites Records.
People dont understand how much time goes into creating a business from scratch and all the procedures that it has on a daily basis. Nobody really sees the grind, the behind the scenes when those days of giving up approach you and the pressure of doing it with a small team or yourself become heavy to bare those days can be brutal but if you do it with love it is so rewarding.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey, I’m Stephy Lee — I’m a Puerto Rican-American artist, songwriter, and creative storyteller. My music blends Spanglish energy with raw honesty — a mix of urban, pop, and house vibes that capture both the confidence and the chaos of real life.
Beyond the music, I run my own label No Te Quites Records and a merch brand called Beautiful Warrior, both built on the “don’t quit” spirit that drives everything I do. I’m currently working on two projects — Semi Consciente (2026) and It’s In The Music (2026) — each showing a different side of who I am as an artist.
What makes my brand unique is that it’s all independent, bold, and authentic. Everything I create is meant to make people feel seen, empowered, and proud of who they are.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Honestly, what breaks the bonds between people is ego and silence.
When people stop listening, stop trying to understand, or start competing instead of connecting — that’s when love, friendship, and trust start to fall apart. It’s not always the big things; sometimes it’s the small moments when pride speaks louder than honesty.
What restores those bonds is vulnerability.
Being real enough to say, “I was hurt,” or “I miss you,” or even “I messed up.” That’s where healing starts. Music has taught me that — when I write, I’m forced to face my truth, and somehow that truth brings people closer again.
At the end of the day, connection comes back when both hearts choose humility over being right. That’s where love really lives.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yeah, there was.
There was a point where I felt like everything I was doing wasn’t landing the music, the content, the effort. I was tired of pushing so hard and not feeling seen. I remember thinking, “Maybe this isn’t meant for me.”
But the truth is, I didn’t really give up I paused. I needed to breathe, to find myself again outside of the grind. And when I did, I realized that stepping back wasn’t failure it was recovery. That’s where the next version of me was born.
So yeah, there was a time I let go but only long enough to remember why I started.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
the Public version of me is absolutely what you get behind doors;
I dont think I could be one of those artist that put on a persona and eventually hate themselves for it because they cant keep up with it. I made a decision a very long time ago if I named my artist name my real name I would always have be my real character and so far its worked out pretty well.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I only had 10 more years to live I would stop thinking about how much everything cost and just worry about my next vacation that I can take with my family and loved ones. I worry so much on saving for my art that I forget to have real life experiences like traveling to different parts of the world and sharing moments with my partner.
