Story & Lesson Highlights with Tiffanie Mishelle

Tiffanie Mishelle shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Tiffanie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time I felt true joy was at the beginning of this year—ironically, during one of the lowest moments of my life. I had just been laid off, and it happened the day after the anniversary of my dad’s passing. A month later, I made the decision to relaunch my wedding and event marketing business, Tiffanie Mishelle LLC. What started as a leap of faith became the most successful season I’ve had since first launching in 2020.
That breakthrough created space for my husband and me to finally leave Chicago—a goal we’d had for a couple of years—and return home to Georgia to be closer to family. That entire journey brought me a kind of joy that felt pure and undeniable, which is fitting because “joy” is my word of the year.
God used my gift—not my corporate job—to propel my family forward, and that’s something no one can take from me. He turned one of my lowest seasons into my most fruitful. What began as loss became a testimony—proof that when I chose joy, God used the gifts He placed in me to open doors no job ever could.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Tiffanie Mishelle, the CEO and Founder of Tiffanie Mishelle LLC, where I blend creativity and purpose to design meaningful experiences through corporate event marketing. I recently expanded my company to include full-service wedding planning, helping couples celebrate love with intention and joy. Beyond my business, I’m the author of my debut book, I Am Not My Backstory — a story rooted in faith, healing, and the adversities I overcame in my past— and a Christian rapper, with my debut album of the same name available on all streaming platforms. Everything I do is centered on inspiring others to rise above adversity and walk boldly in their purpose, no matter where they’ve come from.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Working in corporate America for the past 11 years has truly served its purpose in my life. It shaped my work ethic, strengthened my discipline, and gave me the foundation I needed to eventually build something of my own. But I’ve reached a point where I know that season has done what it was meant to do.
In 2020, I launched my business while still working full time, and now I’m finally stepping fully into that calling as my own boss. Letting go of corporate life isn’t just a career shift—it’s an act of trust. It’s honoring my growth, believing in the gifts God placed in me, and walking boldly into the purpose He prepared for me.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was definitely a time I almost gave up. Back in 2016, I hit what felt like rock bottom — I was homeless, unemployed, and felt completely alone and unsupported. In that season, I truly believed my life had no direction or purpose. I was in such a dark place that I couldn’t see a way forward, but by the grace of God, I made it through. I’m a suicide survivor, and that experience completely changed the way I see life. It taught me that even in the moments when everything seems broken, there is still hope, there is still purpose, and there is still something greater waiting on the other side of the pain. That season birthed my faith, my strength, and my mission to help others see that no matter how low life takes you, you can always rise again.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to using my music to bring people closer to Jesus Christ. As a Christian rapper, my mission is to reach hearts that may never step foot inside a church but can still feel God’s love through lyrics and sound. No matter how long it takes, I’ll continue creating music that uplifts, heals, and reminds people they’re never too far gone for grace. For me, it’s not just about music — it’s about ministry and purpose. My music is available on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Tidal, Amazon Music, and more.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want people to remember me as the woman who overcame tremendous adversity by keeping her eyes on Jesus Christ through it all. My journey has been far from easy — I’ve faced challenges that many wouldn’t have survived, from moments of deep despair to seasons of uncertainty and struggle. Yet through every trial, my faith carried me, and I refused to let my circumstances define me. I hope my legacy shows that even in the darkest seasons, you can rise, heal, and transform your pain into purpose. More than anything, I want my story to inspire others to hold on to hope, trust God’s plan, and believe in the strength within themselves to overcome anything life throws their way.
