We recently had the chance to connect with Tiffeny Wilson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffeny, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I am chasing all the creative things I love to do, and a continuous peaceful life. If I stopped, I wouldn’t fully be myself. I will always find peace & do what I love no matter what. Music, Acting, and Dance has always brought me so much joy and happiness, and it’s something so special to me to do in my life. It’s so imperative to always follow and chase what makes your heart come alive.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am in the Arts & Entertainment industry. Specifically, I am a Singer Songwriter, a Choreographer, Professional Dancer, Actress, and Arts Educator. I am very passionate about creating and being in the Arts. I always have been since a little girl. What makes me unique is my variety of skills, my love for people, and my heart. I’m currently working on my second album Lullabies. My first album My Heart was a beautiful experience, and I recently put out a collection of all my music titled All Within One Heart. Check it out! It’s streaming on all platforms. I play the piano, write all of my lyrics, and compose all of my music.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
In my eyes, what breaks the bond between people is dishonesty, lack of trust and jealousy. What restores them is authenticity, communication, and loyalty. Authentic relationships whether it’s romantic or friendships are such a gift. If it’s one sided or if one person is completely all in no matter what, and the other person is not fully in it or someone you can completely rely on, then it becomes unhealthy and it’s not something you want to have in your life. It’s important to have awareness of what’s really going on and sometimes you need to make the hard decision to let that person go.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me many things that success never could. It gave me a tougher skin to deal with situations and obstacles I was in. It helped me to grow spiritually and get closer to God. It opened my eyes to people’s views around me, and exposed their lack of understanding and willingness to build something and continue walking towards something they loved. It built my work ethic to a whole other level. It showed me how strong I was and how strong I could be. My suffering at times in my life, refined my character and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Suffering can be a very good thing if you choose to learn from it.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version is definitely and most certainly the real me. I have always been myself fully since I was 9 years old. Especially as I grew in high school. I really found myself and my personality, character, and who I am in high school and was the same Tiffeny ever since. I’m full of energy, caring, lover of all different types of people, very passionate about what I do, and vocal about things that matter to me. I am fully transparent, and honor and value being real. It’s very important to me to be who I am and not change or adjust myself for anything or anyone. I don’t hide anything, I’m super open. I’m not into the whole being fake thing, putting up a facade to impress people or please people. What you see is what you get. I’m proud of the positive, strong, kind, & optimistic person I am, and who I’m becoming as I continue to grow in this journey of life.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What false labels are you still carrying?
I don’t really have any false labels but there are some experiences I’ve had when it comes to me growing and changing and people not seeing that or acknowledging who I am or the things in my life that I’ve changed for the better. I’ve learned that some people see what they want to see, instead of what’s really there, and that’s where I can be misunderstood at times. I am super comfortable in my skin so I just ignore it, not let it get to me, and I keep doing my thing! It’s important to know that you can’t control people or what they think, or how they view you, so you just have to keep walking in your truth.
