Story & Lesson Highlights with Trevon

Trevon shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Trevon, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Many people are facing so many obstacles. Issues with housing, parental rights, medical and so many more. It hurts me to see so many people suffering. So. to combat all the injustices that I have seen working in the medical field, being separated from my little ones, and connecting with people at rallies and events, I have been connecting with other people who study law, fraud and so much more to be able to fight for those who cannot fight. Lawyers have been successful in 1 thing, and that is taking men and women’s hard-earned money and then providing no justice. They utilize administrative processes and information instead of upholding the behest of this nation’s constitution. My team and I are here to stop it and get people out of the hells that they are facing. We are called the GEL Council, a subdivision of my main company LOVE & FASHION. At L&F, we utilze our skills to bring awareness at events and more for various casuses and this is a cause that affects the entire nation.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My moniker [name] is Trevon. I was born in Guyana and came to AMERICA when I was 6 years of age. I started my company back in Sept 2011, but I started doing evets in 2005. What makes us an ideal company is that we have a purpose, and it actually drives us. A portion of all our profits are donated back to charity. We have currently donated about 25k but recently it has slowed down as I have been focused on the law portion of what we do so once we start organizing events again to fight for the rights of the people, it will not be like most others who assume to know what the law is, but by someone who has read the constitution, studies with lawyers, has law dictionaries, takes court training and has direct training and experience on how to help others. Currently right now we have a new acting CEO to keep the operations already in movement going. We are hitting the streets educating people on sickle cell, seeing how much they trust themselves and building communities. Several of our current initiatives include our no warriors left alone where we visit patients in the hospital and bring them healthy meals and company while educating them on their rights as a patient. We have our pilot transportation program where we are aiding people on hospital visits and more. We have a men’s support group for men living with sickle cell, as sickle cell is the main focus of our company as I too live with sickle cell disease. This is currently funded by viewers like you who visit our websites and purchase merch at www.loveandfashionapparel.com and booking our events services at www.loveandfashion.nyc. We thank you in advance for your support.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
About 5 years ago, I was separated from my daughter. I already knew that injustices took place from working with patients of various spectrums and attending community board meetings and more. But on Mya 15 when my daughter was born and they took her away because the mother already had 1 child taken away, my heart was broken. Since then I connected with so many fathers and mothers who have had their rights impinged by court corruption and has made me see the world for what it is. They say if you want to hide something, to place it inside of a book. Not being a reader before and knowing that a lawyers is just someone who has read more books than I have, i delved into a new world of law and reality. But even though my focus is on regaining connection with my little ones, I stayed active working with patients and saw that the court corruption was not just in family courts but in all courts and that was enough of a catalyst to help make me more focused into the work that I already do. My life now, is books, and building community. The courts will not protect us so we have to unify to protect ourselves and I will use my platform with LOVE & FASHION to keep on organizing events to bring more awareness, to urgent matters that need to be addressed.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Great question. It seems to be a common phenomena for people to hide their issues, not to ask for help, to keep things hidden while they work on it and I too fell suite to the same. Paying attention to the reality I was able to see that the people who lived like that were stressed out, faking it or lost. Looking at the people that were more open to share their stories and get it off their chest and see how much peace they had and how much relief it was for them to find support that they would have never found if they kept it to themselves. Seeing the strength in being open and honest I decided to do the same and now I have met with so many people fighting against the injustices in the hospitals, I have connected with so many lawyers and men and women that have studied law and see how the courts are vile. That is why I decided to share my story loudly and to the world and to not keep my issues a secret anymore. Keeping it, a secret kept me away from the knowledge that others could share with me and the love & support that people can really have for each other when we open up. My only problem now is that I may be to open, but that I will deal with later if needed to be done.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Community. Anyone around me knows that I firmly believe that if we all came together, we can truly make the world a better place. You can find me aiding people carrying bags, feeding the homeless, donating to charity or giving back anyway that I can. I am not rich and sometimes it is hard to support financially but financially is only on way of support. If we all made the decision to do something for 1 stranger a day, the world would be a much better place. This belief of mine is rooted in my firm love and joy that God has my back and doing the right thing will always have its own rewards.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Well I am dead and gone I want t0 be remembered for each man/woman i was able to connect with and help place a smile on their face and peace in their hearts. I want to be remembered for fighting for change when others were too afraid or unwilling to fight. Malcolm X and so many others were thought to be unrealistic and sometimes fools but at the end people who did not realize it were able to see the truth in what they were fighting for and I will be too. I find it funny that people who have never studied law, constantly tell me that I am wrong, but the ones who have studied law, read the constitution, article of confederation, maxims of equity and so much more align with me and see that we need to unite and fight against the real enemy that is really affecting all of our lives on a daily basis. I want to be remembered for my actions leading towards making the world a better place.
