Good morning Tyson, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes, i most recently won an award for services to writing, which was completely unexpected. It was from an anonymous nomination and submission, and i was grateful for that alone. Also, i’ve recently started a mentorship scheme with UK TV network Channel 4 and SharpFutures, who are both renowned for leading creatives into thriving futures.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My names Tyson Green, and i’m an Author/Filmmaker. I currently run GSBS Productions and LGC Productions, which are both home to anything from promo videos, documentaries and film. LGC Productions was founded as a community production house, where local filmmakers with different skillsets come together to create, and share their knowledge and experiences on various zero budget projects, helping everyone from beginners gain experience and grow as filmmakers in a positive, family orientated environment.

I however didn’t take the conventional route into film, as i started by providing clothing to various directors and producers, and fell in love while being there on set, and also while being a support artist on larger scale productions. This gave me the boost i needed to study screenwriting, and start writing , directing and producing my own projects, and the rest is history.

I’m currently in pre production for my next psychological horror film ‘SECOND HAND’, and in post production for two films and documentaries, and also finalising my second children’s book as we speak…

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Communication is key, whether that be in friendship, relationship or business, and lack of it can cause unnecessary stresses, misunderstandings, overthinking, postponement of vital tasks or business movement, which all have a negative knock on effect.

But, i personally think when people communicate appropriately and in a timely manner, it creates trust, reliability and confidence between individuals and teams alike, which can only create a better bond.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
I always had a wild imagination as a child, and while circumstances weren’t the best at home growing up, i used to always create imaginary worlds around me, which little did i know would be the foundations of me becoming a filmmaker. But also watching fantasy movies as a child would always help my mind forget about the real world, and immerse myself in worlds that i always wanted to be part of.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
It depends on where i am and who i’m around to be honest. As an ex military man i’ve always been taught to read the room or environment first, and i tend to pick up on energy quite quick. So, to some people i can come across quite reserved, and to others quite energetic and bubbly.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
That the energy you give is what you also attract. So, you have to be kind and clean hearted, not just to attract the energy back, but also because life is hard, and you never know what someone is going through and what the effects of your positive or negative interactions can create in peoples lives.
