Story & Lesson Highlights with Xavier Thomas of Northwest Arkansas

We recently had the chance to connect with Xavier Thomas and have shared our conversation below.

Xavier, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Being a good dad!
This new journey has been a blessing & a roller coaster ride. And we’re just scratching the surface of it

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey, my name is Xavier Thomas!
I am back once again☺️
I still write poetry books , but now I’m DJing in Northwest Arkansas and became a father

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Our son Marcellus.
Simply because I just became a new dad/ new husband soon this year, 2025.
When I tell you we are NOT getting sleep like we use to, oh my goodness someone come get this baby so that we can have our sanity back lol.

Let me tell y’all one thing to prepare for when becoming a parent that nobody talks about. When you’re KO in bed, and you start hearing dinosaur/ chicken/ pig noises in the middle of the night, that’s your baby and not a burglar invading your home. Be ready for that part!

But having this baby was beyond a blessing from the man above.

Back in my 20’s , one of my biggest goals was becoming a father/ husband some-day. So what I would do is sit around married couples, parents with kids, and even baby sat time to time so I know how to prepare myself. I would ask hard questions or witness the ups/downs of how two different people can still coexist with each other. Then adding a baby in it is a whole another level of character development and growth.

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
My therapist:
I’ll never forget it. I called my therapist for the first time and instantly we connected.
I knew they were the right person! For our first meeting, which was an introduction, we talked for maybe an hour or two. It was refreshing to know someone cared about my thoughts & how I express my feelings, silly side, my opinions.
It was so amazing that in one session, I became the therapist for them in their time of needing help. They even suggested I go get my license 😂
We laughed so hard about that !
Guess I’m really good at it.

Now, I never really needed a therapist. Because if I ever had a problem, I knew who or where to go to for help. However, I still highly recommend it. There were many times where I held in a lot of pain or trouble , and needed more than just a friend to talk to.
Go get therapy

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
“The Customer is always right!”

Back then, I use to hear those words all the time.
I’ve been in customer service for over 10+ years now, and this sentence use to eat my soul inside!
We’ve all experienced a bad & terrible customer who was rude just because they enjoy ruining people’s day, had a bad day, or doesn’t want to listen to the rules.

Now that I am older and seeing how the world truly is + changing. I do not believe in this anymore.
When you are in the wrong, you are in the wrong. It’s that simple.
If an individual messes up an apology, fix the mistake , & changed behavior with a good attitude really goes a long way.
Actually do right by someone.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That Xavier was a good human being who tried his hardest and best to live a good life & provide for others when he could by giving his last. And even when he didn’t have it, he found a way to help.
