We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tamarah Wild. Check out our conversation below.
Tamarah, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Public speaking about pet afterlife is likely in my future, though the thought of it makes me nervous. Pets who’ve returned to their soul home have shared with me fascinating information about their soul missions. I’ve learned our pets come to us to assist our earthly experience and our own soul missions. They have the ability to absorb and transmute our energies, both physical and emotional. But perhaps the most significant gift-they have messages for their humans, which in my experience, have brought immense healing to those grieving their beloved pets.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
One of the most difficult things we go through is the end of life experience of our pets. Big questions and emotions about “Is it time?” Wanting desperately to know what our pet is thinking, feeling and wanting for this chapter of their life.
That’s why I’m a Pet Death Doula.
I provide emotional support and guidance during the before, day of and afterlife of the pet. Bridging the communication gap between people and their pets is profoundly fulfilling, and provides a broader perspective of the human-pet relationship, even after death.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’ve always been a rule breaker.
I defied the shoulds and shouldn’ts when they felt too confining, or didn’t make sense to me. It’s a challenge to shrug off societal expectations and truly strive to understand your role, your soul mission.
I’ve spent years in study and practice of psychic communication with animals and mediumship, talking with deceased animals. I’ve spent hundreds of hours observing pets’ behaviors, emotions, struggles, And here is where I’ve landed. I’m a pet death doula and animal communicator with clients all over the world. I can’t imagine a more fulfilling life.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Like many dogs, the first few years of my life I went from place to place, uncertain of people, feeling unsafe and unwanted. I was in foster care until I was three.
Since 2014 I’ve worked with hundreds of pets who have experienced abandonment, abuse, and various other traumas. These experiences are locked in their bodies, and have their energies trapped in fight/flight mode.
I feel their suffering at a visceral level. As an animal communicator, I work with these animals and their humans to help clear these trauma imprints, help release their fears and uncertainties. I bridge the communication gap to help people understand the wounds that need to be healed in their pets.
I’m very aware that the path I’ve chosen mirrors what I am meant to heal inside myself. The compassion and love I give the animals, I’m meant to also give myself. They are my greatest teachers, my most patient and loving guides to healing.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’m very much myself whether in public or private, professionally or personally. I’m likely to drop what I’m doing or who I’m talking to to pet a dog. I’ve lost time looking at pictures of a stranger’s pets. It may seem like all I’m about is pets. That’s not completely true. Pets give me joy. Big joy. But I love to read- psychological thrillers are my fave. I love growing things, watching birds, connecting with friends and family. I’m into crystals, essential oils, and various healing modalities. Finally, I love sushi, orange-peel chocolate, Chai tea, and coffee. There. That’s me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that our pets are our divine guides and deserve our respect. They deserve the respect we would give a wise elder because our pets are very wise, and are here to help us. But unlike us, they stay in the present moment.
The other thought I’ll share is our pets do not fear death. They remember the “other side.” They’ve told me about their afterlife- what they’re doing, who is with them, their next mission, and the soul level reason they were with their people.
