We asked some of the most generous entrepreneurs, artists and creatives we know to talk to us about where they think their generosity comes from.

It comes from a place of knowing what state the world is in, and how much further we can go by working together. Every person I work with knows that my goals and aspirations dont involve me succeeding alone. All of the art & businesses I create come from a place of collaboration and support. My brand “Odb”‘s message involves helping that artist who wants to bring their art to life, but may not have the support or capital to do so. Read More>>

First off, thank you for your generosity in sharing this space with me! I don’t take that word lightly. For me, generosity comes from a deep appreciation for the people who make life meaningful: family, friends, colleagues, and community. I’ve been incredibly lucky to have a strong support system, and I try to pay that forward however I can. Read More>>

Growing up I was lucky enough to be in a family and a community where the common ethos was to build a longer table rather than a higher fence. My immediate family was always hosting people for dinner, usually multiple nights a week and in the summer the neighbors on my block would trade produce from their gardens back and forth. Seeing this embedded community care from a young age, I think I always had a sense that whatever you give out will come back to you and that there is so much joy to be found in tending to the people around you. My generosity comes from a deep belief in the power of giving and creating connections through art. I’ve always felt that art isn’t just about self-expression—it’s also about touching lives and making a difference. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of donating my artworks to support various causes, which has been incredibly fulfilling. Growing up, I saw my family value compassion and giving back to the community, and that has stayed with me. Read More>>

We’ve always felt that part of the mark of success is your ability to give back to your community. From the very beginning of starting the vending machines we wanted to make sure we were also supporting a community that has supported us. My generosity comes from my parents, I believe they instilled in me most of if not all my values. I learned from watching them and I am a big believer that when you learn something when you are young it follows you to adulthood. I am grateful to God everyday, for all the things I have been provided with, the opportunities and the people in my life so I try to give back in anyway I can. Read More>>

My parents raised me to be generous. We grew up helping our neighbors, volunteering at church, and giving of our time, talents, and money. We had a jar in the kitchen called the “hungry people’s jar” where we were reminded to give to support those who needed it. My mother was a great role model, she volunteered many hours through her at Bethany Christian services, our church, and more. Read More>>
