When I first started my law practice, a lot of people told me that I shouldn’t open a law firm right out of law school. Everyone had different reasons, but there were many more people telling my why I should not rather than why I should. Ultimately, I stuck to my gut, started my law firm, and now I’ve been running for just over two years. I have an amazing paralegal and have successfully represented hundreds of clients in just over two years of being open. And I am only growing and getting better. Read more>>

Indeed, it is very challenging and discouraging when someone says that you are not good enough or cannot make it. But if I took those criticisms at heart, I would not be here. When someone tries to give “an advice” that you are better off not doing such and such, it is not up to them, but up to me to decide whether or not I will believe it as a truth. Read more>>

Perseverance …. Over the last decade I have overcome several obstacles. There was a quote I had stumbled on which inspired a tattoo that really spoke to me as a woman. “She rose from the ashes with fire in her veins & madness in her soul.” I have persevered regardless of my circumstances. I have walked through the fire , risen from the ashes with a strength I didn’t know I had. Read more>>

It’s funny because a few years back I used to be mad at haters. I learned that having haters is one of the biggest indicators you’re becoming successful. Everyone around you will turn into a hater on the road to greatness and that’s totally fine. You use that negative energy and transmute it into your passion and prove everyone wrong. Drake said jealousy is just love and hate at the same time.  Read more>>

My senior year of undergrad, a group of 4 female printmaking students and our professor went to a huge national print conference in Milwaukee. I was beyond excited and couldn’t wait to be fully emerged in everything print and meet the community that also shares my passion. I think that no matter who you are or what you’re doing there’s always going to be someone that doesn’t agree with you, or maybe even hates you for what you’re doing. I just see that hate/criticism as water off a duck’s back’. It doesn’t really matter. It’s really easy to just work a normal job and come home and do nothing like a lot of people do, so there’s no point in taking criticism from someone who takes it easy in that regard, because chances are they don’t know what it’s like to put yourself out there. Rarely, if ever, I’ll hear ‘hate’ from a genuinely successful person. Read more>>

Every industry has its negative aspects to it. There will always be the haters, the jealous trolls, and folks that question your motives. That is so out of your control. What is in your control, is how you respond/handle those harsh comments or actions. Ask yourself this, ‘why would someone have something negative to say, if I was giving it my best shot?’ Well, it is because they are insecure and it has nothing to do with you.  Read more>>
