Theresa Caragol on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Theresa Caragol. Check out our conversation below.

Theresa, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Who are you learning from right now?
I’m learning from my team every day, watching how they build trust with each other and with our partners and clients. I’m also learning from my kids. They remind me to stay curious, laugh more, and that leadership starts at home.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Theresa Caragol, Founder and CEO of AchieveUnite and at my core, I’m someone who believes that trust and partnership can transform businesses and people.

After more than 30 years working with incredible global companies to accelerate their go-to-market strategies and build high-performing alliances, I reached a moment when I wanted to do things differently. A close conversation with a mentor and a close friend, and my desire to be more present for my family, inspired me to start AchieveUnite. My goal was simple: to create a company that helps organizations grow through collaboration, authenticity, and shared success.

Today, AchieveUnite works with leaders and teams around the world to drive measurable business outcomes through trusted partnerships, leadership development, and AI-driven strategies. In 2024, I published Partnering Success: The Force Multiplier to Achieve Exponential Growth, which became a #1 Amazon bestseller in 28 categories, a milestone that reflects how universal the power of partnership truly is.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that shaped how I see myself the most is the one I had with my mentors Bob, Ron and Karen, who encouraged me to step out and create AchieveUnite. They saw my strengths before I fully did, and taught me that trust, empathy, and partnerships are the core of leadership. That relationship is why I lead the way I do today.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that trust and resilience are built in the hardest moments. Success can be loud, but suffering taught me to listen to others and especially to myself. It made me a more empathetic leader, person, and someone who builds relationships not just for profit, but for purpose. The trust, care, and love you invest in others always come back when you need them most. It deepened my understanding that leadership isn’t about standing alone; it’s about standing together.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to the belief that trust and partnerships are the foundation for sustainable business growth. At AchieveUnite, we’ve been working on this for almost a decade now, and I’m incredibly proud to see how it’s evolved and the impact we’re having on companies. It’s not just a short-term project; it’s a lifelong mission, because when we get it right, everyone wins.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace at our country home in King George, surrounded by my family, our dogs, and the stillness of nature. There’s a calm that settles over me there, the kind that reminds you what really matters. It’s where I can slow down, breathe, share stories, and be fully present. I love sitting on the porch with a glass of wine, looking out at the lake, and feeling completely grounded. In those quiet moments, I’m reminded that success is wonderful, but peace, real peace comes from being connected to the people and places you love
