We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tyler Keye & Christopher Keye. Check out our conversation below.
Tyler & Christopher , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Good Question!! We’re walking a path. It’s not always easy, and sometimes it feels uncertain, but we know God is guiding our every step. Even in the hard moments, His presence reminds us that we’re not wandering—we’re walking with purpose, trusting Him to lead us where we need to be.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! We’re Tyler and Chris and we’re The CooKeye Crew — a husband-and-wife-owned cookie business based out of San Antonio, Texas, born out of love, faith, and a desire to spread joy one cookie at a time. What started as a simple way to share homemade treats with friends and family has grown into something truly God-led. We believe that even the smallest things — like a cookie — can carry comfort, connection, and a reminder of God’s sweetness in our lives.
Our mission is simple: bringing joy to people’s lives one cookie at a time. Each cookie we make is crafted with care, prayer, and purpose — whether it’s brightening someone’s day, celebrating a milestone, or reminding someone that they are loved.
Although we’re proud to call San Antonio home, we’re grateful to ship our cookies all over the United States, spreading smiles and sweetness far beyond our city. The CooKeye Crew is more than a brand — it’s a testimony that when you put God first, even something as small as a cookie can become a vessel for His goodness.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One moment that really shaped how we see the world was the birth of our son. He came a month early — what was supposed to be a regular checkup turned into an emergency. That same day, I was getting promoted, and right as I was about to give my speech to my new team, I got the call that my wife was going into labor.
After he was born, we found out our son had fluid in his lungs, couldn’t regulate his temperature, and weighed just 4 pounds, 6 ounces. He spent a couple of weeks in the NICU, and those days were scary, exhausting, and full of moments that made you really see what matters.
That experience completely changed how we see the world. It showed us how fragile life is, how much we need to trust God, and how important it is to lean on each other. Every little milestone — every breath, every ounce gained — felt like a huge victory. It grounded us, gave us perspective, and made us grateful for even the smallest blessings.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Chris and I both grew up facing different struggles, and honestly, those experiences shaped us in ways success never could. For me, those struggles taught me more about grace than any success ever could. Even in the darkest moments, when I felt at my lowest, I know it was only God who brought me through.
For Chris, his hardships drive him to help and encourage others to grow because he knows what it’s like to live without and understands the impact of support and guidance. Our struggles didn’t just shape who we are individually — they also shaped how we walk through life together, with empathy, faith, and a desire to make a difference for others.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
We think a lot of smart people get it wrong today by thinking knowledge alone equals wisdom, or by relying too much on credentials. You can have all the degrees, titles, or certifications, but if you don’t pair that with humility, empathy, and faith, it can miss the bigger picture — like how to really serve others, grow as a person, and make a lasting impact.
Another thing is thinking you can control everything. So many people rely only on planning or skill, but life doesn’t always go that way. Sometimes you have to trust God, relationships, and your instincts to guide you in ways that pure intellect never could.
At the end of the day, being smart isn’t just about what you know or the letters after your name — it’s about how you use it, who you become in the process, and whether it’s making a positive difference in the world.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story we hope people tell about us when we’re gone is that we lived with purpose, love, and faith. That we cared for others, lifted people up, and used the gifts God gave us to make a difference in the world. We hope they remember us as people who loved deeply, celebrated life’s joys, and encouraged others even through the hard times. At the end of the day, we want our legacy to be one of grace, hope, and joy — a reminder that a life centered on God and on caring for others leaves a mark that really matters.
