For the past year, I have focused my attention on Ayurvedic Yoga and Vishoka Meditation practices, attending five to six classes each week. I am learning the importance of listening to my mind and body and prioritizing my health and wellness. This means I eat, think, breathe, and move differently than before. I have entered a new season of life. Read more>>

The main way that I practice self care is by allowing space to explore a multitude of outlets for creativity – not just the one that I self identify with or that I do for “work”. Yes, I am a photographer but I am also so much more! Once I realized that creativity expressed itself in many ways in my life – cooking, crafting, singing, growing food, playing – I felt a sense of ease with my work. I feel lucky that I am able to mainly work with clients that feel aligned with my style and approach and don’t feel like I need to say yes to every job. This also feels like self care since I am tend to be a bit of a people pleaser. Read more>>

Personally: Big home-cooked meals, naps, and gardening have made me a happy fella for quite some time. I’ve noticed that not only are these great to do in general, but because they all take a little time, they work as a metric system for me. If I’m not doing my self-care activities, it lets me know when I’m wearing thin on free time. This really helps me keep track of things because I get lost in my work a lot; can’t help being passionate. Read more>>

I’m very much a Type A personality – and a recovering perfectionist. Fortunately, in my mid-twenties I discovered yoga! The physical practice in conjunction with breathwork has helped me work through stress, anxiety and things I can not control. I’ve also learned that I can not control everything – and that everything will be okay! Read more>>

As someone who works and lives alone for the most part, I have been putting together co-working meet-ups at local coffee shops with other photographers. This has definitely helped my mental health as it can be quite lonely being home by myself and working non-stop because I have nothing else to do. I’m still working at the coffee shops, but I’m around others and I just feel much better. My motivation to work actually increases as well, because I put in the effort to get out of the house and buy food and coffee, so I have to make the excursion worth it. Read more>>

In my journey as an entrepreneur, self-care has become a cornerstone of my effectiveness. Early on, I was overwhelmed by the demands of running Luxurious Peace, and I realized that neglecting my well-being hindered my decision-making and creativity. To counter this, I started a daily ritual: each morning, I set aside 30 minutes for meditation and journaling, allowing myself to center my thoughts and intentions for the day. Read more>>

Recognizing that my effectiveness as a filmmaker and cinematographer is directly linked to my physical and mental well-being, I prioritize nurturing both. Mindfulness and meditation help me maintain calm and focus in high-pressure environments. Kickboxing keeps me physically fit, enhancing my agility and endurance during demanding shoots. To recharge creatively, I engage in outdoor activities like photography, which hones my eye for unique perspectives in nature. Together, these practices fuel my energy, inspire my creative vision, and enable me to deliver superior results on every project. Read more>>

I practice self-care in a couple of different ways. I have hobbies that bring me joy such as my house plants, which I have 62 of now at the time of writing this. I take a rest week to reset every month. Have a very set schedule that I stick to that all allows me space to be able to rest when I need to and take care of myself first. I am very basic of myself for practices, it can look like taking naps as needed, hot showers, bubble baths, eating, good food, etc.. Read more>>

For me, self-care is an ongoing practice of returning home to myself. It’s about cultivating an intentional relationship with my body, mind, and soul that acknowledges their wisdom and honors their needs. I tend to think of self-care less as a list of activities or routines and more as a way of being—tuning in, slowing down, and asking, “What is it that I need right now?” Read more>>

Self-care for me is about finding peace in the small moments. Whether it’s taking a bath to unwind, listening to an inspiring podcast, preparing a meal, hiking, or doing nothing at all, it’s about reconnecting with myself. I also practice the mind architecture principles of Peter Crone, Dr Joe Dispenza meditations, or yoga to deepen my understanding of how my mental and emotional patterns affect my overall well-being. These practices have a ripple effect—they don’t just help me feel better in the moment, they integrate my mind, body, and emotions in a way that sustains me over time. Read more>>

My self-care routine has a lot to do with my own self-discipline and how I attack certain tasks to reach my goals on a daily basis.
Over time, I learned that in order to be successful, you must stay focused. To me, that means having a daily routine with habits that get you closer to your goals. For instance, I realized that if I wanted to be a professional musician, I would need to practice every day. So, I determined how much time I could spend practicing, and a structure of how I would approach different songs and arrangements. Read more>>
