I have found that I am incredibly magnetic, generous, and powerful when I share from my overflow. And when I feel depleted, desperate or scarce and try to move forward from that place, it just doesn’t work! Read More>>

My self care starts with the daily affirmations. We must be mindful, for where we put our focus and attention, there it will grow. Being kinder to myself, setting boundaries with others, taking the time aside for rest, listening to my gut and not going against my own grain. Times in nature to reconnect with what’s pure is vital. Having a nice high vibe conversation with a like minded friend. Meditation, sound frequencies, listening to motivational talk’s throughout my day.  Read More>>

I believe in practicing what I preach, especially in a business centered around self-care. Self-care is not only an integral part of my company’s philosophy but also a personal commitment that I uphold. As the founder of a company specializing in self-care products, I understand the importance of incorporating self-care routines into my own life. This not only allows me to experience the benefits firsthand but also enhances my overall effectiveness. Read More>>

This one was tricky at the beginning of my career, mainly because I only prioritized the “grind” aspect of running your own business. That mindset didn’t last long, though, burnout hit me really hard. I was tired, stressed, and my body felt like crap. Read More>>

Through knitting and crocheting, I’ve found a practical way to meditate and enhance my well-being. These activities offer a calming rhythm that helps me unwind and clear my mind from daily pressures. The repetitive motion of crafting with the vibrant yarn I create allows me to enter a state of focus and relaxation. This intentional pause not only reignites my enthusiasm for creativity but also significantly impacts how effective I am in my business endeavors. Read More>>

I do numerous things for self-care which I have discovered over the years. A few of the integral ones are meditation, breathwork , eating wholesome food , exercise and time in nature. Some more minor ones are going for a relaxing massage or taking a bath with epsom salts & essential oils in it. I find self-care to be extremely important for mental clarity and well being, which thus allows my effectiveness to be at a maximum.  Read More>>

My self-care relies on awareness of my body and mind and working with myself, not against. This is something that I’ve learned to do because of becoming a yoga teacher. I do what feels right in the moment. If I lack energy, I’ll meditate and do a restorative yoga session. If I’m feeling super creative and inspired, jewelry making will be my priority instead of other things that I may need to do because a time will come when I feel less inspired to create and more inspired to do other kinds of work.  Read More>>

When I get stressed I will do yoga in my family room with a mat and yoga ball. I also practice at the Cleveland Racquet Club. I take my dogs (Al & Mo) on long walks, ride my bike, workout on stationary bike or swim laps. Today, I wasn’t feeling great so I had a 1/2 hour foot massage. I seek different types of therapeutic outlets throughout the week. I turn my art gallery into a hoop-dance studio in between painting. I crochet! Working with my hands helps anxiety. Drink lots of water. Regularly visits to Connor Whole health via University hospitals. And then there’s the whole spa aspect which I get plenty of facials etc. Read More>>

Working out five times a week is my favorite part of my self-care routine. I start my days off working out and moving my body and that alone gives me more than enough energy to get me through my day. That energy I feel after I finish my work out is almost like a super power charge up lol. Seriously though! The amount of work I get done in a short time span because I’m so focused and just being in a constant state of flow is so rewarding that I wake up every day and do it over and over again. Even on my off days I’m thirsty to work out haha. The discipline that I have for working out carries over into other aspects of my life naturally without force and I absolutely love that for me. I have been driven most of my life to achieve goals. First it was education oriented leading to a total of three graduate degrees and a doctorate, then it was work oriented. I finally achieved what I thought was my dream job but it devolved into an all-consuming element that turned out to be more harmful to me than helpful. I grew very depressed and apathetic, even unmotivated. Read More>>

We have all been granted special talents in life. Born in 1958, I am a product of the Baby Boomer generation. It was a time when females were conditioned to the attitude and expectation of service as a wife and mother. Married in 1976, it was a time when a woman was not allowed to have her own identity, everything was subject to the approval of your father or husband. Read More>>

This is a great question! Growing up, self-care was not something that was discussed in my household at all. I don’t think I even HEARD the word self-care until after I was 18. Now that I am older, I know just how important self-care actually is. Read More>>

Perhaps not surprisingly, one of my main forms of self-care is acupuncture. Receiving regular acupuncture, of course, helps keep me healthy and balanced. But importantly, it also helps me stay connected to what my patients experience during their sessions with me. Being in the role of patient—and I’m very needle sensitive!—is a reminder of the trepidation with which some people approach acupuncture. I think receiving acupuncture makes me a more present and gentle practitioner. Read More>>

I am the Queen of self-care! As a stepmom who focuses on implementing self-care in her daily routine, I enjoy journaling, breathwork, listening to my affirmation recordings, dancing, watching my favorite movies and going to brunch! As it is for any other caregiver, self-care is equally important for stepparents in a blended family. Truthfully, it can be tremendously essential in this role because stepparenting can come with unique challenges and responsibilities. With the wide range of emotions, including love, frustration, anger, joy, confusion, even guilt, it is so important that stepparents engage in activities that brings them joy while allowing themselves to recharge.  Read More>>

I began doing self-care in the summer of 2022, as 6th grade was approaching. Fast forward one year, 7th grade is less than a month away, and I have achieved wonderful things that include improving my hygiene and mindset. Of course, the steps I took were simple and slow, but it doesn’t mean it was easy. It was challenging yet motivating at the same time. And of course, over the course of one year, I’ve learned that people can have various meanings for the term “self-care”. Read More>>

I’ve created a routine for myself. Creating a routine keeps you from getting distracted. It also helps with keeping your mind on what you need to be focused on. I like to wake up, pray and meditate. This helps me think clearly on what I need to do next. Also, I am able to stay in a creative mindset to plan and market ideas. Most importantly, I’ll make sure that my body gets a lot of rest. If I’m too tired, then I am unable to properly function to do anything. Honestly, making sure you do something special for yourself keeps your vibrations high to attract everything you need. This is an interesting one. On the surface, you would think self-care is eating healthy wholesome foods, getting enough sleep, getting proper hydration, working out and moving your body, meditation, – daily, or at least 3-4 times per week. I have done that for most of my life. A healthy lifestyle comes easily to me, I am naturally disciplined that way. However, when I turned 40, I realized that all the self-care I was doing had a missing element. Read More>>

Self-care is something that I hardly ever did for myself because I’m always taking care of other people. It’s such a weird concept for ME to wrap my head around. I felt like it wasn’t something that I needed. I’m finally realizing the importance of self-care because I need to be my best in order to serve others well. Some of the things that I do for myself is getting massages and adjustments regularly. I work with clients on a regular basis and I tend to absorb the energy that they are carrying. It was hard for me to disconnect at the end of the day. Read More>>

I try my best to get in time to move once a day whether that’s a walk, run, or other workout. It helps me unplug and settle my mind. I’m also lucky and have an amazing team that shares the same values and focus on self care. We fill in for each other and make it possible for each of us to take extended time off while still providing the services we need to provide for constituents. Read More>>

I’ll say this in a whisper. The word self-care when presented to me sounded very universal, which made it challenging to apply in a way that would be consistently impactful. So, I approached the idea of self-care flexibly which allowed me to embrace the uniqueness of self and its Multifacetedness. From a therapeutic mindfulness approach, language matters. Changing the language would give a person the keys to be in tune with their unique self and encourage them to create a list of things that in the moment makes them feel natural joy. Small things like going for a run, watching your favorite tv show or working out.  Read More>>
