I think my self-discipline comes from my parents who helped foster positive traits in us as kids. Along those lines, I know that being responsible and keeping my word has always been important to me. If I commit to something, whether it’s plans or a project deadline, I do everything in my power to keep that commitment. The thought of bailing or canceling totally stresses me out; even “rescheduling” makes me uncomfortable, though it’s often a necessity in this business! Of course, life happens and things change, but I always do my best to honor plans and respect people’s time. Managing a page like @eatdrinkclt requires self-discipline because it’s all on me to keep a calendar, schedule meetings and photoshoots, and answer emails in a timely manner. the short answer is no one else is going to do it for me. the long answer is that i come from a very dysfunctional family, and knew from a really young age that all i wanted was to become independent so i wouldn’t have to rely on my family. when i was younger my whole motivation for doing well in school was so i could go to a college far away. i thought being smart and getting a degree would be enough to get me to a place where i was happy and at peace, but it wasn’t. so i turned to my passions, which was art and tattooing. my mental health and art journey are almost one in the same. once i started tattooing i was able to save up enough to move out, but i still wasn’t healed or at peace because i hadn’t actually done the work to do that, just the work to get an apartment. tattooing sort of paved the way for me to start my healing journey because it gave me the freedom i needed to finally deal with the problems i had been ignoring. so that’s where the self-discipline used to come from, and now, it comes from a place of building community. i used to be motivated by spite, fear, and anger, and now i’m motivated by love and friendship. that’s the corniest thing i’ve ever said haha Read more>>

My self-discipline comes from a combination of my personal experiences and the commitment I’ve made to my business and clients. I know that success is built on consistent, focused effort, so I’ve made it a priority to develop strong habits around time management, goal setting, and continuous learning. The drive to constantly improve, stay informed, and provide the best possible service fuels my discipline. Additionally, my personal journey with sensitive skin has taught me the value of patience and perseverance, which I apply in both my business and personal life. Read more>>
