My self-discipline comes from within. I don’t believe anyone can teach you how to be self-disciplined. It takes time and you have to have that drive that will help you succeed. As a Libra, I can easily get over-whelmed with the smallest tasks and if that happens, I won’t get anything accomplished because I’m in my head too much and just start to put things off to the next day, which can turn into weeks and then to months. With that being said, I had to do something that will help me focus to getting anything accomplished in a timely manner. I learned that in any type of school or work setting, I have to make a to do list and break up assignments or tasks so that I won’t get overwhelmed. That let’s me know exactly what needs to get done that day and not over think anything. It makes me feel good to check off the tasks on that list and that gives me the confidence that I can accomplish anything and do more. Read More>>

However, during my incarceration is when I really started to gain some much needed self-discipline. I honestly had lost focus and was doing whatever I wanted. During my time in the wilderness I gained so much self-discipline. I had to really refocus and allow God to put me back on track. We can be given discipline on all levels in our lives but is it ultimately up to each person to have self-discipline moving through this journey that we call life. Read More>>

If you wake up every day to do what you love, what you feel passionate about, then you have no choice but to be self-disciplined. Sometimes we may feel like doing what we love is not enough, or that we may never make it in that field. However, that’s when your will power has to be strong enough to keep you disciplined in what you do to make that dream come true. Read More>>

From the age of 13/14 when I got my first job, I was disciplined enough to get myself up, and be to work on time without my mother having to do it. I remember y mom having three jobs at one point, so I knew that she needed rest. I would not dare wake her up when I knew that she just got home in the wee hours in the morning sometimes. Being raised by a single mother, who worked very hard to raise five children, taught me self-discipline, and I never lost it. Read More>>
