Xhristopher of Pittsburgh, PA on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Xhristopher and have shared our conversation below.

Xhristopher , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day is finding an ice to break, hahaha, cornball I am.

But on a serious note, the first 90 mins of my day now is skincare and self care, checking my artist email, reviewing my schedule for the week for music and my 9to5. Depending on what project I’m working on for that week I start to comb through on what needs attention in that aspect.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Oh man, I actually hate doing this part. My family and close friends get enough of me talking about ME!!! HA!

But my name is Xhristopher with an X, I am a singer/songwriter, recording artist and a freshly new cinematographer.

Currently been pushing new music from
my sophomore album. I’ve been performing consistently around the Pittsburgh area where I have reside to work on several projects musically and in the hospitality industry.

I can’t talk more in depth at the moment about the projects but I am truly excited on what’s to come in my career. It’s scary but I think that’s what excites me honestly.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
REBEL! REBEL! REBEL!!!

Haha, I have been me from the time I was a little kid. My parents tried to tell me who I was and never did I let them tell me who I was because I’ve understood the meaning of human at that age and still don’t know why the universe and God created me with that wisdom.

But I’ve been a lone wolf who’s always wanted to create art to heal and spread hope but through a storytelling way through music. To get to hope and peace, we have to go through the ugliest parts of life and that’s okay.

I think it’s funny that people get upset with me for me being who I am knowing my flaws and my strengths, I’m transparent and never care what a person thinks. I stand up for myself and don’t owe anyone an explanation on why I choose myself before anyone else.

One thing I’ll say about my mom and pops, watching them work and strive to be their truest form at all times. I can honestly say they’re the blame for why I stand strong, especially after my rock bottom journey, I made it through and told me I’m a fearless fighter.

I’ve known from a young age that I am someone incredibly special and I have a job to do in this universe and if the world or human gets in my way. I’m determined to find a way around, but knowing my strength and my drive. I’m drive right through it all and never look back.

I encourage anyone who feels like the world tries to stifle their true heart and soul because it’s makes them uncomfortable. Excuse my French, but F them, let them be uncomfortable. They’ll be fine. TRUST! You were built to be you and no one else

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I might as well let it go…

These last couple of months after I horrible year that seem to have lasted for decades.

I lost everything…drugs became my gateway to death. There were times i was hoping to overdose because I felt like I failed at life.

I was that guy, I had 3 great jobs, released my album by myself with the help from my city’s recording studio Mr. Smalls. I had some pretty dope friends who supported me and then it felt like it plwent dark.

Almost dying made me feel like giving up the most.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Oh yeahhhhh, hahaha, what you see is what you get and some and more. HA! HA!

I’m in your face with sass, love, sarcasm, witty, party animal, emotional, clever, caring, determined and everything someone needs and wants.

That’s the truth, but I’m not for everyone, especially with the energy I hold. If you’re not having fun or working hard…I tend to lose all interest, real fast, haha, real fast.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
My standards & expectations. They are HIGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Because of my goals and what I’m looking forward to in my career. Every month I’m setting my standard high because I want the best from the best. That’s with music, my business, my friendships, my relationship, my family.

My desire and love runs deep, deeper than the ocean that we are surrounded by.

I believe in humanity. I believe in love, I believe in peace, I believe in kindness, I believe caring for one another. My truth to someone is taken with so much emotions and as if I’m mean. “No baby I see what you can do, stop down playing who and what you are capable of. “

If we have one life to live why half ass it. So what if it’s tough, deal with it and learn and achieve what needs to be done in order to be the best version of you.

I want to see everyone win, but when it comes to my inner circle and my love ones I’m tough on them and straight forward, but also know when to walk away.

Everything I do is from the heart and what’s best for me and my crew! I protect my worth and my spirit at all cost and those boundaries get cross. Snippity Snip, Cut off.

I want my business and art to be surrounded with greatness not haters,
