We’re looking forward to introducing you to Yvette Sandoval . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Yvette, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Honestly, I’m most proud of the parts of my business that happen when no one’s watching. People see the finished product—beautiful bottles of YS Beauty Apothecary Crown Nectar on a shelf—but what they don’t see are the quiet hours I spend researching ingredients, infusing oils, packaging orders by hand, or even questioning myself and then choosing to keep going.
I’ve built more than a product; I’ve built a standard of integrity. Every ingredient in Crown Nectar has been chosen with purpose, every step is intentional, and it’s been important to me that what I create is rooted in both science and soul. That behind-the-scenes devotion—those long nights, those second-guessing moments, those breakthroughs—that’s what I’m most proud of.
And now, I’m taking that same devotion and scaling it—moving Crown Nectar from my kitchen counter to the shelves of boutiques, wellness practices, and beyond. It started as something personal, but it’s grown into a vision much bigger than me, and I’m proud of every unseen step that’s bringing it to life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Yvette Sandoval, and I’m the founder of YS Beauty Apothecary. I’ve spent almost 10 years in the beauty industry, but my true passion is creating holistic, intentional products that support both hair health and self-care rituals. That passion led me to develop Crown Nectar, a slow-infused botanical scalp and hair oil designed to restore, strengthen, and nurture hair from the root.
What makes my brand unique is the devotion to integrity behind every bottle. Each ingredient is chosen with purpose, infused in small batches, and crafted to deliver results while honoring the artistry of ritual and self-care. YS Beauty Apothecary is about more than a product—it’s about creating a movement that inspires people to care for themselves in a deeper, more meaningful way.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding Crown Nectar into wellness practices, boutiques, and retail spaces, while continuing to connect directly with clients who are on their own journeys of healing and growth. This brand was born from my belief that beauty and wellness should work together—and I’m so proud to share that vision with the world.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was curious, creative, and deeply connected to the world around me. I’ve always loved the simple things—like the smell of the forest, the peace of an old dirt road, or the way nature grounds you if you let it. Even when fear or circumstances pulled me away from that for a time, my heart has always found its way back to that sense of wonder.
That part of me—the truth-teller who notices beauty in unexpected places, who creates from a place of intention—is still alive in everything I do today. YS Beauty Apothecary and Crown Nectar are extensions of that younger self who believed in possibility, creativity, and honoring what feels real.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—more than once. There have been seasons where the weight of building something from scratch felt overwhelming. I’ve had moments when I wondered if Crown Nectar would ever be more than an idea in my head or a small batch on my counter. There were days when the exhaustion, and the self-doubt made me question if I should just stop.
But every time I hit that wall, something small but powerful reminded me why I started. Sometimes it was a message from someone who tried Crown Nectar and saw results, sometimes it was the vision of my future self building a brand that stood for integrity, and sometimes it was just that stubborn fire in me that refuses to settle.
Those moments taught me that resilience isn’t about never wanting to quit—it’s about choosing not to. And now, when I look at how far Crown Nectar has come, I’m grateful I didn’t give up, because what I almost walked away from is turning into something bigger than I ever imagined.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am deeply committed to building YS Beauty Apothecary with integrity, no matter how long it takes. For me, it’s not about rushing to keep up with trends—it’s about creating something that lasts. Crown Nectar was never meant to be a quick product; it was born from a lot of research, testing, and listening to what people truly need for their hair and scalp health.
The belief that drives me is simple: if you create with intention and integrity, it will stand the test of time. That’s why I refuse to cut corners, even when it would be easier or faster. Whether it’s sourcing the right botanicals, infusing them slowly, or packaging with care, every step matters.
I see YS Beauty Apothecary not just as a product line, but as a movement—one that teaches people to slow down, nurture themselves, and choose quality over convenience. And I will keep building that, piece by piece, for as long as it takes.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I built everything I touched with integrity, intention, and love. That I didn’t just create a product, but a movement—one that reminded people to slow down, honor themselves, and find beauty in the small rituals of everyday life.
I want the story to be that I never chased shortcuts or fads, but stayed true to what I believed in, even when it took longer or felt harder. That Crown Nectar became more than just an oil—it became a symbol of what can happen when you choose quality over convenience, and truth over trends.
Most of all, I hope people tell the story of someone who lived with courage, who spoke her truth, and who poured her heart into creating something that made others feel more confident, more cared for, and more connected to themselves. If that’s the legacy I leave, I’ll know I did exactly what I was meant to do.
