zadra of North Hollywood on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to zadra. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning zadra, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Who are you learning from right now?
Thanks so much for having me again !
I feel I’m always learning from my peers. I strongly appreciate the friends and people around me that do what I do and share their knowledge along the way, as I do to them. We’re all busy but when we finally get the chance to hang out and share ideas and stories it really feels like community.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Luca Zadra, oftentimes pka as just “zadra”. I’m a music producer and audio engineer, I’ve worked with many artists in many different genres, some of which you may know such as Kanye West, Young Thug, Cordae, Duki, DC The Don, Andy Grammer and many more

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Who was I before who I am now ? Probably just a child. I found music early on when I was about 12 and I sort of decided then that this is what I would want to end up doing. Of course I went through many versions of myself but pre-music me was probably when the last major “software update” took place.. since then it’s really just been refinement and improvement that will hopefully continue to take place for as long as I’m working and living.

But of those qualities that defined me prior to music many have stayed: I’m still an avid stargazer, hiker, physics, science, space and nature nerd. Also still a Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings nerd just like when I was 12… perhaps I haven’t really changed all that much after all !

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Certainly, many times and there are bound to be many more in the future. But would I ever ? Not at all, I know that much. At the end of the day I’m still doing what I love and it never feels like work. Even when things don’t go your way you still keep pushing and pushing and pushing. It’s not even a thought really because what else am I going to do ? Give up ? I’m far too stubborn for that. It’s always a marathon and there are ups and downs so whenever you are in a down moment you just have to keep looking forward. Next thing you know you’re back on an up !

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends know I value connection. One of my favourite ways to share meaningful connection is by going out in nature and spending time outdoors. There is nothing more peaceful to me than a clean, undisturbed setting away from the buzz of cities and crowds. It brings me peace and centres me so well I always come back refreshed. Sharing those places and moments with friends is one of my favourite things to do.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Worrying. I’m not one to stress much about things, I tend to just face them as they come and only concern myself with what I can control. However if I knew my expiration date to be near I’d most definitely throw what little apprehensions I may have out the window and just do whatever I felt like doing. Who can tell you anything at that point ?
