We recently had the chance to connect with Zandra Baheyadeen and have shared our conversation below.
Zandra, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I start my day with self-care—stretching, lifting weights with affirmations, reading something positive, then praying and journaling before heading out.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“I’m Zandra Baheyadeen, founder of ZanCan Personal Assistant & Concierge. ZanCan began 15 years ago as a small errand service that I ran on my own for several years before growing into a team. Today, we’re a one-stop solution for packing, unpacking, organizing, and more..
What makes us unique is how we bring calm to chaos while tailoring our services to each client’s needs. There’s much we don’t do, but as long as it’s legal and ethical—ZanCan.”
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom taught me the most about work. She led by example—showing me resilience, integrity, and the importance of doing everything with heart.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most has been the fear of failure. When I first started ZanCan as an errand service 15 years ago, I questioned if I was enough or if people would even need what I offered. For a while, that fear kept me playing small. But once I pushed past it and trusted myself, my business grew into something bigger than I ever imagined.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie my industry tells itself is that one size fits all. Every client’s situation is unique—whether it’s a family in transition, a senior downsizing and trying to treat them all the same doesn’t work. At ZanCan, we tailor our services because real solutions only come when you meet people where they are.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I believe I’m doing what I was born to do. Serving others, bringing order to chaos, and supporting people through life’s biggest transitions feels natural to me—it’s where my heart and skills align. No one told me to create ZanCan, but I knew there was a need, and I felt called to fill it. Along the way, I’ve been blessed with an amazing team who shares that same heart for service.
