Meet Neven Sakoo

We recently connected with Neven Sakoo and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Neven, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I always tell myself that if I’m scared of doing something, it means it will have a great outcome. I was a bit scared of becoming a lash artist, but I took the risk and signed up for it and now I love doing lashes more than anything else!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a lash artist, a pre nursing student, and a patient service representative in Gastroenterology. My main goal is to be an esthetic nurse, and focus on advanced skin care.
As of now, I do lash extensions, lash lift, and brow lamination and it’s been my absolute favorite thing to do! I call it therapy to me.

Very soon I will be offering more services, such as facials to get more experience from now until I finish school and become a nurse.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities and skills that impacted my journey are bravery, ambition, and great customer service.

I would advise everyone to be open to take risks! Take risks as much as you can and you will never regret it!
Do what you love, and work hard to accomplish the best level in your dream.

You got it!

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Working long hours is tough, but a few things I do recharge me: Praying and reading the Bible, talking to my family, sometimes working out, and listening to music!

I’ve tried everything, but I will never pick anything else over the things I mentioned above ❤️
