Meet Joseph Conde

We were lucky to catch up with Joseph Conde recently and have shared our conversation below.

Joseph, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

Keeping my creativity alive requires me to constantly take in new and inspiring content and continuously expanding my point-of-view. I’ve always loved learning new things and I show that love of knowledge by emulating my interests. Be it music, writing, acting, directing, I am always looking for new ways to express myself through my interests.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I feel like I’ve been a musician my whole life. Falling asleep to the radio every night of my childhood and playing piano for hundreds of people before I was 10 years old. Writing my first song at the age of six and self producing my first collection of original songs before I entered middle school. I’ve wanted to be a musician since I was able to understand it was even a possibility. When I had the chance to create my own label to distribute me and my friends music, I seized the opportunity and haven’t looked back. I only hope to grow a thriving community around the music and help brings dreams to fruition.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three things that have helped me on my journey have been my ability to communicate effectively, problem solve, and help see a project through to completion. These points have taken me years to become efficient in, and I am constantly trying to improve these things every single day. What I would say to anyone who is starting their own journey or thinking of getting started, do it. Do all of it. Commit to your path, set goals, and achieve your dreams. Find your strengths and utilize them to bring your vision to fruition.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My wife has been the most helpful and supportive person to help me achieve my goals. Helping me to become more confident in my ability to communicate and being able to empathize and sympathize with others. Her support has allowed me to mature and flourish as a creative. Giving me the strength to demolish the previously self imposed creative restraints that I had subjected myself to. I don’t know where I’d be without her.
