Over the years, we have consistently been blown away by the examples of generosity we’ve witnessed from our community of creatives and entrepreneurs. We asked some of them to open up to us about where they think their generosity comes from.

My generosity comes naturally actually. Even when I had a penny to my name, I would still give that penny away. I’ve never respected money. When a person goes through so much struggle financially sometimes you begin to see what holds true value and what doesn’t. Being bead broke made me want to be a helper to many people. Thousands of people. Because I never want anyone to feel the ways I’ve felt which was helpless and hopeless in my finances. Read More>>

Generosity begins with finding something that connects with you and believe in. It sounds counterintuitive, but people give generously because of what it does for them. Find something that feeds your soul and you will gladly give and give and give. As your giving grows, so will the impact it has on your soul. It is a never ending and amazing feedback loop that we all should be aware of. As we understand this concept and the benefits of it, we will work to find ways to give. Read More>>

Firstly, I would say my faith. I believe it is better to give than to receive and I try to put that into practice in my everyday life. I would also say that life experience has taught me the importance of having compassion and giving time and finances towards people and causes you believe in. I think that type of generosity is the biggest and best way to impact your community for the better. Read More>>

I’ve always been generous with my time. It’s something that came naturally. Growing up, I found purpose in giving back, which is really what drew me to the arts. Being an artist requires a LOT of selflessness and generosity. You have to not only be willing, but eager to give. One of my first real introductions to show business was through volunteer work with my mom’s non-profit studio, Momentum Arts. But if I’m being honest, the real root of my generosity and the reason I crave success is deeper than that. Read More>>

I have always had enough! Coming from a family of 13 children it never seemed to me that we were poor. Because my father worked hard and he made sure that we always had enough. In the 1950s people came to our house daily to use the phone, use the clothes dryer, borrow a cup of sugar or flour. And even to watch television. Read More>>

My generosity comes from a mix of upbringing, faith, and experience. Growing up, I watched my parents give even when they didn’t have much to spare—whether it was time, energy, or support. That stuck with me. It taught me early that generosity isn’t about how much you have, but how much heart you put behind what you give. Read More>>

As a young girl, I learned that it was a lot better to give than to receive. I learned that there is always someone less fortunate that would give anything to be where I am. And as I got older, those life lessons continued to grow. Through hardships of my own, I am always trying to find ways to help others and give back. I’m always looking for new ways to grow and change for the better. To give is to show love. And showing love towards others is something I love to do! One of the best ways I do that is through my photography. I always strive to have affordable prices and great deals as a way to show my generosity and passion I have for what I do. Read More>>

My generosity stems from a deep-seated empathy that I’ve developed through my own life experiences. While I was fortunate to have a comfortable upbringing in many ways, I also faced prejudice and often felt like an outsider. There were many times I was excluded or treated differently, which was challenging. Read More>>

I was raised by a single father and things were not always easy. However, it was always ingrained in me that too much is given, much is required. I’ve channeled that mantra throughout life and it’s served me well. I think generosity and more importantly, gratefulness is the key to success in this life. Read More>>

Our son, Owen, was born with a chromosomal abnormality. As a result, he needed an enormous amount of both medical care and medical equipment. Even though we had pretty good private insurance and Owen was covered by Medicaid, he was still denied for coverage over and over again. We had really tough days as a family but we got through with the help of friends, family, and the amazing help of several charities. It took mountains of paperwork and hours of our time just to get the things that we needed for Owen. Read More>>
