Meet Dani Wieczorek

We were lucky to catch up with Dani Wieczorek recently and have shared our conversation below.

Dani, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience is an ancestral force that was passed along to me since I was very young. My family knew that the world might try to name or define me, so they gave me tools -mostly courage and confidence- to write my own stories. That shaped not only how I live but how I make art — transforming what hurts into what heals, and what’s invisible into something seen – always guided by the lenses of love.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I have served in multiple production roles and led award-winning projects across the entertainment and advertising industries, collaborating with Netflix, A24, Usher, Victoria’s Secret, Sony, YouTube, Google, Uber, and more. After a 16-year tenure, I embraced my artistic voice and began expanding my producing skills into my own creations. Delving into visual arts, cinema, and writing, I’m on a beautiful journey of self-expression and advocacy.

My debut included two photo series: I Am a Piece of Art — celebrating self-love and the beauty of unalike bodies — and Livre Leve Solta — reclaiming the freedom of the female form. Both were exhibited across the U.S., Europe and Korea.

Currently, I’m producing my first solo exhibition, while leading the production of PRESENTE!, an independent documentary following Brazilian Black female political and community leaders in their fight for human rights. I’m also developing All Eyes On Me, an experimental hybrid documentary — a cinematic collage of self-acceptance and prejudice reflecting what it means to be seen, misjudged, and ultimately self-defined.

In parallel, I serve as a CASA volunteer, working with children and families in L.A. County’s child welfare and juvenile justice systems. It’s deeply important to me to be of service to my community and to make change with my own hands. We are all powerful agents of transformation — if we allow ourselves to be.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Adaptability, imagination and emotional intelligence — I believe being born with a genetic mutation challenged me to learn how to adapt. You have to find the way that works for you, which many times can be, and it is, different to the ones around you. Imagination allowed me to look for alternative solutions. I learned that is always possible to find new ways. The never done before is an interesting playground for a creative mind.

As an advice, keep curiosity alive, listen and observe. We have a lot to learn from one another. We all carry valuable wisdom. It’s beautiful when those are exchanged.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

Oh, it’s not a book but this question made me think of someone who immensely contributed to my journey, Quinche Campbell.

We saw each other only once. She was the Head of Production of the AKQA London, in 2016. We chat for no longer more than 45min. I met her to share the work we were doing at the São Paulo office. As I finished the presentation, she told me to acknolegde how far I had come and never to let anyone tell me otherwise. Years late, recently landed in LA, I was harrased at work and her words hold me together and protected me. I remember realizing this day how impactful we can truly be in each other’s life and I started to embody that realization as a way of living.
