There is nothing quite like an extreme difficulty, loss or trial, that after going through, reveals a level of understanding. And with understanding comes compassion and empathy, which is also an element of love and forgiveness. My early years were wrought with problems. One after another. Including the loss of a sibiling. Experiencing this loss personally as well as watching my other family members go through, was truly heartbreaking. And being wounded physically and/or emotionally, is not pleasant.
