Who would’ve guessed that my journey from being a registered nurse in a county trauma hospital 18 years ago would lead me to the world of Medical Aesthetics? They say “find your purpose,” and I did exactly that through deep self-reflection. While working at bedside in a hospital fulfilled me, it didn’t ignite my passion. Read more>>

It’s hard to put your finger on the exact moment when this happens. And I feel it’s almost an invisible occurrence in life that although you may think you have an idea of what your purpose could be you may get blindsided and end up on another path. I went through many stages thinking this is it. Read more>>

I am pretty sure my “purpose” found me. I think I just sort of “stumbled” onto it or was “led” to it by some divine guidance I do not pretend to know or understand. I am not a great “planner.” Never was. I have always just sort of followed my intuition and when that was unavailable or if I was not tuned into it I just sort of “winged it.” Read more>>

While service to others has always been a part of my life, for instance, my high school’s motto was “Servons” or “let’s serve”, it wasn’t until my time after college that I realized how much service to others lit my spirit. When all my peers were graduating from college and going off to big-time jobs in big-time cities with big-time salaries and big-time benefits, I didn’t know what to do. So, once I graduated college I began volunteering at the MLB’s Urban Youth Academy in Compton, CA. Read more>>

I wanted to be a writer. Since grade school, I wrote little poems and short stories, mostly for my own amusement. I wrote all through high school, where my 10th grade Creative Writing teacher, Ms. Bruce, read my work aloud in class, including a poem about apples, which she declared “the only poem written in class that had value.”. From a very young age, I sensed that art, specifically drawing, might be my lifelong companion. I remember back in kindergarten, there was this boy who could draw. Using simple shapes, he’d sketch robots, and it had everyone, including me, mesmerized. This was my first taste of the enchanting power of art. I envied the magic he wielded, creating worlds with just a pencil and paper. That’s when my bond with drawing began. Read more>>

I’ve always enjoyed playing Tabletop Role Playing Games. I think my enjoyment of TTRPGs came from my enjoyment of reading when I was young, I had consumed all of the content available to me (this is before the internet!), and TTRPGs offered a way for me to create content as I was imagining the scenes in the story. I found my purpose in instrumental music accompanied by visual storytelling when falling in love with guitar and songwriting over a decade ago. I actually felt my purpose all the way back in childhood. I didn’t quite know what it was in detail or what was driving me but I knew it was there. We laugh about it now because of course as most parents feel, she thought it was just the thing of the moment that a kid is saying. Read more>>
