We were lucky to catch up with Anna Carrandi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
When I first started out on the dogs IG account, I had a hard time differentiating what made my content different or why would anyone want to follow us. I saw someone say that the most important thing you can do when starting to create content, is to find your niche and stick to it. Those words have helped me grow my following in the last three months from 900 followers to now almost 5,200. It also has helped me realize that there is always room at the table. Everyone that I interact with on IG has their own thing and I genuinely find myself celebrating others rather than comparing myself to them.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
So when we first got Gigi and Gizmo, I was constantly posting photos about them all over my personal social medias. I felt as though my family and friends were kind of over it, so I naturally created their own Instagram. I would casually post there but did not take it seriously until the fall of 2023.
There was one account I have loved, @BoopleTheSnoot, and she gave the advice of finding your niche and find what makes you different. So we did that. We have two Siberian Huskies who happen to also be littermates. Our brand is chaos and we do it well LOL. My dogs bring me so much joy, and there is nothing I love more than sharing the laughter that they bring me with everyone that stumbles upon our page.
Gigi and Gizmo are not only the first dogs that I personally have ever owned in my life, but also the first huskies that I’ve owned. So the goal of our page is to share the laughter and everything that comes with owning huskies, while also sharing all the products and tips that I’ve learned through trial and error. We do not gatekeep, so I am ALWAYS more than happy to share tips and tricks with other pet parents of what works for us.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think the three most important skills that have positively impacted our journey on social media would be:
1. Staying authentic to who we are and what is important to us.
2. Building a community of likeminded people that you ENJOY following and interacting with.
3. HAVE FUN!
At the end of the day, the point of social media is to provide an escape for people from day to day, so if you are not having fun and not enjoying creating content … this may not be for you.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We are definitely looking for folks and companies to collaborate with us! We LOVE supporting small businesses, specifically women owned businesses. We love partnering with companies that help us give back to communities and those that are in need. The easiest way to reach out to us if interested in collaborating is through our email, [email protected] or shooting us a DM on our Instagram!
