Meet Beg1n

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Beg1n. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

BEG1N, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by writing consistently. Before iPhones had the notes app I used to write lyrics in a composition notebook. Some lyrics were written to song instrumentals, some to beats I would hear in my head, others just to get my thoughts off. It’s a gift to be able to come up with words that flow together fluently.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a singer/songwriter/musician. What I find most rewarding about my artistry is that I’ve been able to connect with individuals that have the same passion for music as I do. Allen B. and Kingdrums (KDP) have really been that push for me to improve as an artist. Those are my brothers. I can’t say much about upcoming endeavors. Just know we have some amazing things on the way.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Top three qualities for me would be faith, humility, and resilience. If you remain solid and focused on your path ahead you won’t lose. There may be roadblocks, but once you overcome those circumstances you’re stronger than you were before. To those who are just starting their journeys remember that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. Make sure the work ethic balances the faith.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I honestly want to collaborate with artists that have the same passion for music as I do. Off top Kenyon Dixon, H.E.R., Victoria Monet, & Lucky Daye are amazing artists in their own lanes. There’s so many others that I want to work with. It’s going to happen in God’s Timing. Our team (KDP) just needs to be able to connect with their team.
