Meet Buffy Werle

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Buffy Werle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Buffy, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

I have always had an intention that points me in the direction I was wanting to go. Over the years there’s been a lot of haters and naysayers. I am so grateful I never let them win. Even if their words managed to make it in and created a loop in my head, even if I was scared, I did it anyways. I believe in myself, a confidence instilled in me by my mother. She would tell me I can do anything I put my mind to. And she was right.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I started my journey in professional organizing over 10 years ago. I have managed to grow a team over that time and take on larger projects and more aligned clients. I absolutely love what I do because I recognize that disorganization affects every aspect of life. Organization is the basis to everything, time management, money management and sanity.

I love what I do because I know it makes a difference in people’s lives. It helps businesses thrive and profit, it helps homes settle and become peaceful. That’s the most special part about what we do. We are invited into the innermost chaos of our clients and we help them iron it out and make it functional. There is so much beauty in that.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I always loved to organize. It is a natural skill. I do not become overwhelmed inside of the chaos. I decided to pursue a degree in organizational behavior to sharpen my skills for organization. I believe my education was the biggest impact on my journey because it helped me refine my message and approach.

With that said I believe the three skills that are important are the ability to learn, the belief in yourself and aligning with your dreams and visions.

My advice for anyone starting out on their Journey is to hone in on what they truly love and build from there. If there’s a natural passion, a fire, within one’s self that is their calling. Being able to whittle down those passions helps give clarity and guidance towards the destination.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

A book I read early on in my career was the E-myth. It helped me understand if I was going to build a business that I would not be able to continue to wear all the hats. I would need to trust that other people were not only as skilled, but perhaps even better skilled than me. In the beginning it took a hit to my ego to help me move past being everything to everyone. The book went on to explain that delegation and trust is a big part of growing a business. I’m grateful I read it early on because it allowed me to understand if I wanted to grow a big business it was larger than just me.
