Meet Jabbar Walker

We were lucky to catch up with Jabbar Walker recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jabbar , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

It’s hard to explain, but while I value being realistic about life, I’ve realized that a positive mindset brings me hope, makes me feel good, and shapes my reality. Good vibes matter.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a photographer and creative building something bigger than just images. My work is rooted in presence and creating visuals that feel intentional and almost cinematic.

I started with photography as way to overcome a difficult time and stay connected to my first passion, acting. Over time it evolved into creating full concepts and series like my Gold Series where every detail, from lighting to mood, is part of a larger vision.

I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Dubai and get published, which helped me realize that I’m not just capturing moments, I’m shaping them. That’s where I began stepping into creative direction, not just photography.

Right now, I’m in a phase of building, refining my style, expanding my reach, and developing projects that represent my vision at a higher level. My goal is to create work that stands on a global stage, whether that’s in fashion, editorial, or even blending into film and storytelling.

For me, it’s not just about taking photos. It’s about creating something that people feel and prove to myself that I’m someone special the world should know.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Ability to connect with people
2. Comfortability
3. Presence
Photography has its technical side like lighting, composition, and all the details, but for me, it’s really about connection. Having fun, making people feel comfortable, and being fully present is what creates lasting relationships.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes, I’m open to collaborating with creatives who love what they do. I enjoy working with designers, models, and makeup artists. I also enjoy working behind the scenes of film sets, as it allows me to stay connected to story telling in a different way. The best way to connect with me is through Instagram or email.
