We recently connected with Kanpitcha (Irene) P and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kanpitcha (Irene), really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I didn’t discover my purpose through a career plan — I discovered it through starting over.
There was a time in my life when everything felt uncertain: finances, direction, and even confidence. I was building something new in a new place, not knowing if it would work or if people would believe in what I was creating.
But I began to notice something quietly powerful.
Every time someone walked into my small studio feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or emotionally heavy — and walked out breathing deeper, standing taller, and smiling — I felt something change inside me. I realized I wasn’t simply offering massage. I was offering relief, safety, and a moment of peace.
That was the moment I understood my purpose.
My purpose is to create spaces where people feel cared for, grounded, and restored — physically and emotionally.
That vision became The Grand Dara Thai Massage.
Today, when clients return, bring their families, and tell us that our space helped them through difficult seasons of life, I know I am walking in my purpose — not because it is easy, but because it is meaningful.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
The Grand Dara Thai Massage is a boutique wellness sanctuary in Pacific Beach, San Diego, thoughtfully designed as a place where people can slow down, breathe deeply, and truly reset.
Inspired by authentic Thai healing traditions and modern luxury, The Grand Dara blends therapeutic massage with intentional design, curated herbal teas, calming aromas, and personalized care — creating an experience that begins the moment clients walk through the door.
We specialize in traditional Thai massage, deep tissue therapy, hot stone treatments, couples massage, and fully customized wellness sessions designed to restore both body and mind. Many of our guests arrive seeking relief from stress, pain, and burnout — but leave feeling lighter, calmer, and emotionally renewed.
What excites me most is watching people rediscover their sense of balance and peace. The Grand Dara continues to expand its offerings through seasonal wellness experiences, curated self-care programs, and community partnerships — all grounded in the belief that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience
Entrepreneurship taught me to stay grounded in uncertainty. Growth begins the moment you take your first brave step forward — even without perfect clarity.
Emotional Intelligence & Empathy
Deep listening builds trust. Understanding people’s stress, emotions, and unspoken needs creates lasting connection.
Consistency
Success is shaped by small actions done daily. Show up fully, even on quiet days — consistency builds credibility.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I begin to feel overwhelmed, I pause — intentionally.
I’ve learned that stillness is not a sign of weakness, but a powerful form of self-leadership. In those moments, I step away from the noise, return to my breath, and gently reconnect with what truly matters. Even a few quiet minutes of mindful breathing, reflection, or soft movement can completely reset my nervous system.
Overwhelm, I’ve discovered, is often the body’s way of asking to be heard.
My advice is simple: don’t wait until exhaustion forces you to rest. Create small, nourishing rituals within your daily life — moments of stillness, hydration, mindful breathing, and gentle self-care — and protect them with the same intention you would protect your most important meetings.
I have always believed that every challenge carries a solution — and that, in time, everything finds its way to calm. All we need is presence, faith, and trust in the goodness we carry within us.
Because clarity, creativity, and calm are not born from pushing harder — they are cultivated by slowing down with purpose.
