Meet Michael J. Bello

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Michael J. Bello a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Michael, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

At Outrageous Records Inc, we don’t just make music; we build platforms for artists who want to push boundaries. What excites me most about my work is seeing artists grow and express their unique sound in ways that they never thought possible. Having been in the entertainment industry, from my experience in acting to running a Record Label, imposter syndrome can be challenging.

“I’ve always set my sights on building something massive—more than just a Record Label, an entire entertainment empire. From day one, I’ve envisioned myself competing with the biggest names in the industry. This ambition, however, can sometimes trigger feelings of imposter syndrome. The gap between where I am and where I want to be is vast, but it’s also what drives me.

For me, manifesting success is about speaking it into existence, not just for the sake of it, but because I believe in the power of vision. This might look like overconfidence to some, but I see it as essential. By constantly pushing myself towards the highest standards, I’ve learned to overcome doubt and align my reality with my goals. Interacting with influential figures in the industry is a testament to how far I’ve come, and while there are moments of doubt, I use them as fuel to continue growing and evolving.”

overcoming imposter syndrome is about truly believing in the mission of Outrageous Records—to create A bold, unapologetic content that’s a reflection of true self-expression. It’s the recognition that I have a vision, and no matter how big the industry seems, my voice and my work matter. That’s what I instill in the artists I work with, reminding them that it’s okay to feel like you don’t belong, but that you should always stand tall in the face of it.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Today, I’m living a sober, intentional life. I don’t smoke or drink, and I’ve left behind many of the things I used to do. Now, I work out a lot and take control of my health and my time. I only hang out with big-name people in Hollywood because that’s where my path is taking me, and it’s how I stay focused on my goals.

As I continue to work on my first book, ‘Ordinary to Extraordinary,’ which will soon be available as an e-book on Amazon, I reflect on how much I’ve grown. From a kid with big dreams in Ventura California to someone living them in Los Angeles Hollywood, I’m proud of the journey I’m on, and I can’t wait to share more of it with the world. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited for what’s next.

While leading a Record Label is a core part of my career, I’ve also taken on multiple exciting projects that reflect my passion for making a positive impact. I’m currently focused on my acting career, with a feature role in the Echo Eight trilogy’s ‘Five By Five,’ which can be watched on Tubi and Prime Video. It’s an exhilarating time as I balance both my artistic pursuits in acting and running Outrageous Records Inc. Also being a tech being a tech Savvy Guru helps me brand out.

I’m also deeply committed to giving back through my Outrageous Foundation, where we’ve launched a project called We Are Animal Rescue to protect and care for animals in need.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my journey, the three most important qualities, skills, and areas of knowledge that have had the greatest impact on my life are perseverance, authenticity, and self-discipline.

First, perseverance has been crucial. From running a Record Label like Outrageous Records to pursuing an acting career in films like the Echo Eight trilogy, I’ve faced countless challenges. Whether it was pushing through doubts or setbacks, I learned to keep going, knowing that each step forward brought me closer to my goals. My advice for those starting their journey: don’t be discouraged by setbacks. Stay focused on your purpose, and keep moving forward, no matter how difficult it may seem.

Second, authenticity is something I hold dear. Throughout my life, I’ve remained true to who I am. Whether I was managing day-to-day jobs, building Outrageous Records Inc, or working on personal projects like my book or my movie, I made sure to stay grounded in my values. People connect with what’s real, and your authenticity is what will help you stand out. My advice is to always embrace your uniqueness. Don’t try to be anyone else; your authenticity will guide you to where you need to be.

Lastly, self-discipline has been a game-changer. Making changes to my diet, losing weight from 269 to 239 pounds, and maintaining sobriety from alcohol and marijuana were all significant milestones in my personal growth. These decisions required focus and control over my habits and choices. For anyone starting out, self-discipline is key to achieving your goals. Whether it’s managing your health, your career, or your mindset, stay committed to the process. It’s not about the grand gestures but about the daily habits that shape your future.

Ultimately, success is a combination of perseverance, authenticity, and self-discipline. Stick with these, and you’ll be amazed at how far they take you.

I’m absolutely looking to collaborate with well-established companies that share a passion for innovation and entertainment. As the CEO of Outrageous Records Inc, we are not just a Record Label—we’re an entertainment company with a vision to expand into the world of acting, film production, and much more. I see us becoming a multifaceted studio, much like Universal Studios, offering a wide range of opportunities in music, film, and entertainment.

I would love to partner with companies like Universal Studios, Sony Music , or Warner Music. Collaborating with these industry giants would allow us to bring fresh, creative ideas to a larger audience and expand our reach in both the music and film industries. We’re focused on growth and making Outrageous Records Inc a hub for entertainment, where creativity flows freely and everyone can have a piece of the pie.
Our goal is to build an industry where movies, music, and acting intersect in unique ways. Working with these large, well-known companies would help us establish an even stronger presence in Hollywood, bringing our vision of an inclusive and creative space to life.
