Meet Nanxy Wang

We were lucky to catch up with Nanxy Wang recently and have shared our conversation below.

Nanxy, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

As a spiritual person, one of the most impactful practices I’ve incorporated into my life is daily affirmations. I have a list of affirmations displayed on my wall, and it’s the first thing I see when I wake up. Reading them aloud each morning boosts my energy and confidence, setting a positive tone for the day. This simple practice helps me approach my work with a clear and productive mindset, greatly enhancing my effectiveness.

I believe mental self-care is essential, especially in today’s fast-paced world where we’re constantly juggling multiple responsibilities. Maintaining positive energy can make a significant difference, and I often encourage others to explore affirmations or similar routines that resonate with them.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a fashion designer who uses fashion and art as mediums to express and convey spiritual messages, and I’m known as That Fashion Witch. My work spans a range of creative outlets, including painting, graphic design, henna tattoos, and oracle readings. I also run a brand called Northeast Nancy, which embodies a modern spiritual lifestyle.

What sets my work apart is my unique approach to blending spirituality with fashion. I’ve developed my own oracle system, the Fashion Identity Oracle deck, which is rooted in tarot, occult studies, psychology, astrology, and fashion. This deck encourages people to reconnect with their wardrobes in a sustainable way, using creativity to express themselves while reducing waste. Fashion, in my view, is more than just clothing—it’s a form of visual identity and energy. The right materials, colors, and styles can align with one’s current energy, much like feng shui, and attract positive outcomes.

I launched the Fashion Identity Oracle deck about a year ago, and I’m currently working on a new fashion collection designed to further embody my ethos. This collection will offer pieces that align with the elements of the deck, giving my customers stylish options that enhance their spiritual journey. I’m also collaborating with other designers and brands to expand the selection, spreading the message that “Being Stylish is a Divine Energy.”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

As a creative, it’s crucial to have an open mind that allows you to embrace and absorb different cultures, ideas, and knowledge. I’d say open-mindedness is the first quality that has significantly impacted my journey. It’s enabled me to explore new perspectives and fuel my creative work.

The second is time management. Being organized is essential, especially as a freelancer working on multiple projects with different deadlines. Knowing my own capacity and creating a clear schedule has helped me stay on track and meet my goals efficiently.

Lastly, sharing ideas and making connections have been key. While art can speak for itself, there’s always a deeper story or meaning that only the creator can express. I enjoy sharing the hidden messages in my work because when people hear those stories, it leaves a lasting impression. That emotional connection makes the work memorable.

For those early in their journey, I believe focusing on these three areas—being open-minded, managing your time well, and communicating your ideas—will set a strong foundation for success, no matter the field.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely! I’m always open to collaborations because I believe that when creatives come together, the result is greater than the sum of its parts. My oracle system is versatile, connecting to many aspects of daily life, which opens up endless opportunities for partnership.

I’m particularly interested in working with designers and artists to expand our offerings, curators who can bring modern spiritual experiences to the public, and game designers to help build a virtual oracle game for my website. The game will allow people to receive their readings online, bringing this modern, stylish spiritual lifestyle into the digital space.

Anyone interested in collaborating can reach out to me through my website or social media platforms—I’m always excited to explore new possibilities!
