We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Novo Dé. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Novo below.
Hi Novo, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I’m not exactly sure. It’s definitely some intersection of nature versus nurture, more so genetic if I had to guess. But one things for certain – it’s incredibly important – because there’s a lot of talented people in the world, a lot more than me for sure, but if they don’t have a certain level of work ethic to match or mirror that talent, than it’s very difficult, almost impossible, to get to the finish line, complete that project, or just get to any goal. Work ethic is my greatest asset and I would recommend to focus your mind to make sure that it’s yours too.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I wear a lot of different hats in the arts and entertainment industry, but the main title I call home is that of…Artist. Our studio – Novo Dé Productions – will always be a multimedia venture. Skies the limit. And to date, We’ve gone on to produce a number of works, including novels, novellas, short stories and audiobooks, as well as auxiliary outings, including podcast talk show “Art of the Beholder,” where I act as host and lead writer, director, and producer. Our next outing will be a new novel entitled “Til the Bitter [End]emic,” to be released later this year, 2024. Our media ventures started in writing, but we’ll soon be moving onto music in the years to come as well, and then in the future, more audio-visual design, before probably returning to more of the classics – painting, photography, etc.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Definitely work ethic as already mentioned, but also vision and the ability to be persistent in that vision. And for the folks just getting started, my advice is simple: never give up. Everything is an endurance test, and in the beginning, you are going to put your heart, sweat, and tears into something your pursuing, only to find – at least for most of us – that no one cares or there’s just another mountain to climb when you get to the top. You have to understand: no one knows where the invisible door to success is. So keep going. Hold onto that and know that the next thing you do or complete will be better. Don’t let that initial reaction from the outside deter you. Just keep climbing. Pushing. Make yourself undeniable. And then, one day, suddenly – you’ll be there.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely. We’re always looking for new and exciting partners and collaborators, artists and creatives, and just people from all walks of life. As a multimedia production company, with projects that are diverse and ever-changing, we’re always looking for new team members to help bring these worlds to life, depending on the needs of the project and at any given time. But when we’re not doing that, we also like to promote our fellow colleagues, so you can always email us at [email protected] for booking information to be on the show if you’d like to promote your art, business, and/or craft, or you can simply DM us on our socials – @_novo_de – to touch base for how to take things to the next level.
