Meet OTW Kilo

We were lucky to catch up with OTW Kilo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi OTW, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Be myself. That’s how I got to this lil position I’m in today all by being me. Many artists think the easy way out is to copy when really it’s All about originality

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a music artist from Trenton tn. Independent.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The “want to learn” I taught myself how to make beats, engineer and shoot music videos. Teach yourself. Read. Learn things from your favorite ppl and ppl you look up to

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
Adopt me. Many ppl don’t know that I’m adopted. My pops brought me home in a white Oldsmobile cutlass supreme 😂 I think that’s where I get my thing for old cars. Idk where I would be if my parents never adopted me. 💯
