Meet Reese Wood

We recently connected with Reese Wood and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Reese , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic stimulated from as kid watching my mother due everything in her power to provide a sufficient life for me a my younger brother as a single mother for a period of time. She worked hard , scarified a lot, and loved unconditionally so naturally I picked up the trait from her.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Reese Wood CEO/Founder of Reese Wood Foundation basketball skills training business for all skills levels for male and female basketball players that has been established since 2015. Followed by that I am also the CEO/Founder of “ The Foundation” girls travel basketball program which has recently began in March 2024. Outside of those basketball roles, I also serve as a Psychology professor for Miami Dade College Homestead campus.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The top 3 qualities I feel that have allowed me to get to where I am today is .. #1. Being very genuine at my craft. I don’t do it for fame or money but more so for the love and the impact I seek to have on all people that I encounter. #2. I pride myself on being diverse and being able to communicate to with and all types of people that I may meet or encounter. #3. Serving as bridge to the gap meaning young enough to relate but old enough to speak from a place of experience.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

As a kid , my mother and father had always preached to be a leader and never a follower. Leading people in the correct direction will always leave a positive impact on them which I feel is my calling.
