Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zachary Helsel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zachary , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Whooooa there HAHAHA I think that is an on-going battle. Ikigai is a Japanese word which represents the process of finding your life’s purpose but what’s special about Ikigai is that it’s the overlap of people’s purpose when it helps others, makes you money and fulfills your soul. I am one of those very blessed individuals to be pursing Ikigai conciously. I have been an outsider, a pariah, an odd ball pretty much my entire life. I have never been invited places or parties, I didn’t have large friend groups. Not because people or society rejected me, but I’ve lived an isolated life because I chose to be alone. I don’t relish in alone time but the things that I care about, the things I do with my time, the way I think and the way I feel is not commonly recognized and accepted by most people. They don’t understand me. Which loops me back to the original question, how did I find my purpose: By consciously recognizing internal feelings. By letting the energies of the world speak to me and move me. By listening to the people around me and making direct effort to try to channel my passions and confidence into a message for people to resonate with. I am very blessed to have lived a life that built confidence, experience and prosperity, I found my purpose by sharing my incredible experiences with people to help foster THEIR confidence and passions.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
If you’re a dreamer like me, you want to achieve it all. If you’re a doer like me, you want to do it all. If you’re stubborn like me, you refuse to quit. If you’re insatiable like me, you’re constantly searching for more. My business goals have incessantly been changing as I discover more about my niche, my market and more importantly, myself. In the beginning my social media platform was just a faint flicker of an idea. It slowly blossomed into a passion and inevitably expedited the demise of my corporate career. Like a rolling wave cruising over the ocean floor I was overtaken by the ubiquitous need to create content. First I wanted to be videographer, so I did it. Then I wanted to host TV shows, so I did. Then I wanted to manage social media platforms, so I did. Then I wanted to be a full-time influencer, so I did. Then I wanted to run a marketing agency, so I did. Then I decided that I was sick and tired of working for other people even though I was self employed so I am currently in the process of launching a Skool community dedicated to teaching motorcycle education and safety, influencer podcasts and more. I was talking to my Dad yesterday and he said “I’m excited for you because for years you’ve been trying to monetize your talent and you’re finally figuring it out.”

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Firstly, emotional intelligence is one of the most important skills the determines success. It’s the ability to understand, communicate and use emotion. Not only for yourself but for other people. It has allowed me to see people for who they are rather than the words that they use or the image they try to portray. It helps me communicate with people and clients on a deeper level to understand who they are, what they want and why.
Secondly, public speaking. I have been public speaking in various ways ever since I was a kid. From morning announcements, to commercials, to school plays to debate teams to class president to software sales, I have been performing to crowds my entire life. It has taken me lightyears past anywhere someone without those skills could be in my field.
Lastly, my literacy/articulation. I have made a career by effectively communicating complex processes to the average person and allow them to understand. The world has become so bombastic because everyone wants to prove that they are an expert. I learned very early on in my professional career that “no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” Aka, stop trying to shove information down peoples’ throats to prove you know a lot. Dumb it down, use language they can understand and say it in a. way that they will remember.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Let’s use the word special. You know when you meet some people and you’re just like “wow, that person is special” well… that is who I want to collaborate with. There is no shortage of companies, products and businesses to work with. I am in the business of confidence, inspiration and creativity. When I meet people who have the energy that exudes those characteristics, their charisma is intoxicating and addictive. Those are the types of people I want to collaborate with. Whether that be on a business level or a creative level, I want to make the connection.
