Meet Lisa Tahir

We recently connected with Lisa Tahir and have shared our conversation below.

Lisa, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I believe that we are developing confidence and self-esteem all throughout our lifespan. The steps we have taken in the past to allow ourselves to achieve a goal become the memories we can walk upon now to complete our next desire, and the one after that, and so on… We build confidence by completing things that we aren’t sure how to do, yet we desire these outcomes for our life and chip away at our goals. This is how I have become more confident and secure in my own skin. I have nothing to prove to anyone but myself and that brings great emotional freedom because I am not competing with anyone.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am really excited to help make glassblowing and glass casting as an art form ADA accessible. I have spent since 2010 working on this at night and on weekends… I believe that accessibility for people with disabilities is key to our forward progress as humans.

I invented and received a US Patent on The CHAIR-iot, a modified glass workbench for people using wheelchairs to be able to safely blow and cast glass from their wheelchair. I would love to connect with University’s and Studio’s in the US and abroad to collaborate on making ADA accessible glass art making the norm in our world. Please reach out to me through https://www.theyesfoundationinc.com

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Most impactful to me has been to immerse myself in what I want to accomplish. Set an intention- I advise that you set 3-5 intentions for your life that you can spend your nights and weekends researching, throwing out leads, emails, calls, DM’s, letters, etc… It will help you to never feel boredom- which is a call for connection in disguise. Create purpose for yourself and your “work” will be your passion, and you will connect to the most wonderful and unexpected people. Believe in yourself, and keep some ideas quiet and to yourself- or just with a trusted loved one who will encourage you.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to grow my community and collaborate with any of you who reading are also inspired to grow ADA accessibility in the arts, and with those of you who are on the various paths of personal transformation. Please reach out to me, and thank you for your time in reading what life has gifted me with, I appreciate you.
