Ebone Watson is building a life and career defined by intention, discipline, and service. From education to entrepreneurship, her ability to navigate multiple paths comes down to structure, passion, and a deep-rooted drive to help others. By blending creativity with strategy, she’s proving that you don’t have to choose one lane — you can create your own, and make it meaningful every step of the way.
Ebone, you wear many hats across education, business, and creative work. How do you balance these diverse roles while staying focused and effective?
Remaining divergent, diligent, and driven has been at the forefront of my journey. Balancing roles has been something I’ve been doing since childhood. I am extremely grateful to have the ability to juggle roles, be multifaceted and multi-task. Staying focused has never been an issue. Life happens everyday, and no matter how crazy it gets, I am never personally deterred from my goals.
My effectiveness is measured quantifiably. I organize and assess my project data weekly, making adjustments as I move forward. All in all, passion is what truly drives me. The need for wanting to help others truly drives me. It is a joy to serve the industries that I focus on. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
From nonprofit work to real estate investing, what drives your passion for building impact across such different industries?
My passion for building impact for such varying industries stems from my childhood as well. Watching my Father take care of others, look after others, all the while maintaining multiple businesses was something I observed more closely than he could have ever imagined. I fell in love with the processes of running these different types of businesses. I always knew that wherever I ended up, it would be in a position of assisting others. My happy place.
As both a K-12 educator and creative professional, how do you see creativity influencing education and student growth?
Creativity should be at the forefront of influencing education and student growth. It is in our creative minds where our best attributes come out for display. Without creativity flourishing, there would not be any new innovations for the coming generations.
You’re involved in both service-based and investment-driven work. How do these experiences shape your long-term vision and goals?
Service-based and investment-driven work have significantly shaped my long-term vision and goals tremendously. I never imagined the possibilities and opportunities that these industries would bring. Having passion for these industries only fuels my fire. Being rewarded only drives me more. So it’s a beautiful perfect storm of passion and creativity driving my goals forward. My vision has remained the same, to assist others in any non enabling way. Performing this work has only solidified my destiny.
What advice would you give to others who want to pursue multiple passions without feeling limited to just one path?
My advice for others who wish to pursue more than one passion without feeling limited is scheduling! Scheduling your time and availability can change a lot; mentally, physically and emotionally. This is something that should be practiced by all, not just small business owners. Value your time. Value your energy. Most importantly, value yourself. There are no duplications. On your journey, you create your destiny. Make it worthwhile.
