My original purpose always comes from GOD. My faith, values, and ethics drive my purpose. I have always had drive and determination, but I often lacked direction. So it was hard knowing where that focus needed to go. Over the years, I have run across people who have seen more in me than I ever saw in myself. They have pushed me into believing in myself and settling into natural roles of leadership. Read More>>

I quieted the noise and really began to focus on listening and paying attention. I paid attention to the times I felt most energized. The things I was most drawn to. What I was told I was good at. I listened to the messages that were coming in from people in my life. I wrote down everything that came up for me. At first, glance, what I saw was just words, lots of words with no apparent connection. I sat with that for a while and continued to listen. Read More>>

Honestly, I feel like this is what I was meant to do. I have been a dancer my entire life: grew up in a studio, captain of my high school dance team, traveled the world performing on cruise ships and in theaters… I knew I had to keep dance in my life in a permanent way. When I was performing overseas, I was exploring different avenues for a “long-term career.” I fell in love with photography and it’s ability to pause a moment: a moment in time, a moment of choreography, suspending a jump for eternity. I was absolutely and completely hooked. Read More>>

I always loved photography and knew that’s what I wanted for a career. But I wasn’t quite sure how to make it happen or what direction to go in. Over the years I’ve photographed all genres of photography and my business coach told me to pick one! She said if you could only photograph one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? So I thought about all of the things and people I’ve photographed over the years and I felt that maternity is what really lit a fire in me. Read More>>

In my youth, I began journaling about my day. I started out writing poetry, and the first time I read the power that came from my words, I knew I’d fallen in love with writing. When I saw the reactions of my family and friends to my writing, I knew that I’d found my purpose in life. Writing has always been a part of me, and makes me feel free and alive. It is my God given talent and when I figured out it was my purpose, I decided to share my gift with the world. I Read More>>

Though I’d like to think I found my purpose easily, I’d be lying. Many people spend the majority of their lives searching for purpose. Our existence involves seeking meaning, direction, and fulfillment. The concept of purpose may differ from person to person, but generally refers to a sense that we are here because of something important and that we make a contribution to the world. When I questioned God on why He desired me to be so strong during painful seasons of my life, I discovered my purpose. Read More>>

The notion of “purpose” implies that there is a great design for your life. The problem, is that often times no individual can really relay how to discover this design. The people who actually discover their purpose rarely can present a blue print or map to this awesome achievement. They can only share their experiences or journeys to those moments that defined them or opened a door to something unexpected. Read More>>

Growing up, my purpose always seemed primarily rooted in the emotions of those around me. I found my purpose from my own healing journey. I have been on a search for peace for decades and developed tools that helped me build self-confidence and a passion for metaphysical healing. I wanted to harness those skills and present them to others who also need a little help on their own journey to self discovery. I knew I wanted to have my own business and wasn’t quite sure what that was until someone told me they didn’t think I had the resources to build a business but it turned out that the resources were inside me and the fire to succeed was strong. Nothing will ever be the same for me now. My purpose has gotten bigger than I could have ever expected. Read More>>

Great question. When I think back to how I found my purpose I can’t help but remember how my friends and I were always told by teachers and parents to live joyfully, be present in every moment, and infuse it all with a purpose. But, there was always a caveat. . .Live with a purpose but get a degree in a practical subject. . .Live with a purpose but get a highly-paid job. . . Live with a purpose but get a mortgage as soon as you can. . .Live with a purpose but prioritise work over things you love. . .You get the idea. Read More>>

I believe that my purpose was found in three experiential progressions. Firstly by my family observing me and speaking out loud what they were discerning in me. I feel it all began with my parents whom named me Lovinda Joyelle. Lovinda meaning “love” and Joyelle meaning “she brought joy”. My mom always coined me to be her “helper girl” so at a young age I learned that there is a lot of love, joy, and helpful qualities within me so I moved in the Earth that way and it felt very natural; which was a huge clue that these characteristics were inner gifts meant to be expressed. How did I find my purpose? Well, my purpose came to me within the trials I’ve faced and overcame. Along my journey thus far and growing up, I was faced with many health related issues such as a kidney condition and struggling with accepting my autistic diagnoses. I began to learn my purpose when I took an online life coaching class. It feels good to have a sense of purpose, knowing that you are using your skills to help others in a way that matters to you. But how do you go about finding your purpose if it’s not obvious to you? Our purpose began two decades ago when we volunteered at a crisis hotline for teens who had run away from home. We began mediating between teens and parents by assessing the home environment and what had led the teen to run away. We worked through the family discord and presented amicable solutions between the teen and their parent to ensure the child was being heard to prevent a recurrence. Our volunteer experience fueled our greatest purpose in realizing we had a gift for understanding all parties within a family dynamic and inspired us to expand our education in family therapy and mediation. I moved to Los Angeles, eager to pursue my career in modeling and music but little did I know that would get me there to birth this community of women. Now, I am the founder of a local women’s empowerment start up non profit organization. I have a feeling that God is not done surprising me yet. Read More>>

There is no one defining moment that brought me to where I am today. I started dancing when I was 3 years old, I started to seriously study dance at 12. I loved who I was when I was dancing and I loved how I made people feel when I danced. I danced all over Tucson. I danced at many studios, the University, and danced with a professional company for a brief time. I met some amazing dancers and learned some incredible skills, but I also saw many things that should not have been happening. I saw dancers struggling with eating disorders and body-image. I don’t think I have found my purpose. Not Exactly. The word purpose has played a major role in my life. So much so, I even started a book with the working title, You Are Here on Purpose.
I haven’t found my purpose because I haven’t found one thing I like to do. I inhabit a prismatic range of expression that cannot be finished by something as final or determined as a purpose or even a destiny. The root of the word destiny is destination, and I wonder while we are alive if there is a final destination outside death. I’m not so sure any of us are here for one thing. Anything’s possible though. Read More>>

In a world of endless possibilities, how do you know when you’ve found your purpose? When we started our journey in 2018 that eventually led to us opening Sprout Family Chiropractic, we didn’t know what our purpose in life was yet, but we knew that our 9-5 corporate jobs weren’t it. While we weren’t unhappy in our careers there was a persistent nagging feeling that there had to be more to life. There was a void that wasn’t being fulfilled; a desire to make a bigger impact in our community. It was with that sense of desire for something more that we flipped our world upside down and committed to 3.5 more years of school, left our home in San Diego and moved to the Bay Area to pursue our Doctor of Chiropractic degrees. My name is Kari Mills, I’m the founder of Sweat Marketing Lab. We teach people how to build powerful sports and fitness brands, and market themselves.
The thing that is special about this work is that sports and fitness brands have the power to change the world and inspire others in a unique and powerful way that only sports and fitness can. Not only do people love sports and fitness, but it’s also a powerful catalyst that stirs something in the human spirit of what can be possible. Anytime I can be around that, or a part of it – it just feels like magic to me. Read More>>

Going through life, I found myself getting frustrated about the same things. Early on in my adult life, I worked in a lot of different industries. I would start each job with such excitement, only to lose interest with each of them within a year or two. The only common thread that I could find with everything that I tried was that they all worked to help others. The idea of becoming a massage therapist was something that I would put off for different reasons, only to continually circle back to. Read More>>

Growing up I didn’t have a clue about what my purpose was, so as a result, I found myself aimlessly going through life and pursuing things I thought I was called to do. But it wasn’t until I heard about God’s assignment, He has for every person He sends to this earth. For example, Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished.” Meaning, everything God the Father sent Him to this earth to do He completed it. For example, He by His death on the cross provided forgiveness of sins, healing, peace, prosperity, blessings, favor, protection, debt cancellation, and household salvation for us. Read More>>

Well one day I was in a family member’s pawn shop and a young man walked in and stated that he was looking for a firearm because he was going to be hired by a private security company as armed security. At that point he started to look at the firearms, choosing one he would like to carry. Myself being prior to the Florida state Prison system, I knew that if he were to become armed security he would have to qualify with a particular firearm that According to his agency that would be used as a duty firearm. So it raised some red flags in my mind and I started a conversation with him. Later in the conversation it came out that he was purchasing a firearm because he was having some trouble with some guys in his neighborhood that was harassing himself in his family and he was scared for their safety. At that point I advised him he was going about this the wrong way and he needs to be true to himself first with the purpose of purchasing his firearm and when he does buy one he needs to get some training. What a question to start with! First, I feel extremely grateful that I can even speak to finding your purpose because I’ve been lucky enough to find mine. Like most things, it came to me when I didn’t try to force anything and let feeling lead the way more than anything else. Not to say this wasn’t hard, but sticking to it enough and not trying to make sense of it all I believe gives you space and permission enough to continue to put yourself out there. Read More>>
