We’ve been working on our publication and platform for almost a decade because we deeply believe that the world will be a far more empathetic and collaborative place if we all had the ability to know each other’s stories. The past decade has brought unimaginable challenges along the way, but we persevere because we believe this is mission worth never giving up on. We often are inspired by the folks we’ve featured and their commitment to their respective missions and so we asked some of them to talk to us about this very topic and have share some responses below.

I’m committed to building a sustainable, natural-fiber clothing brand that serves the whole family. I believe what we wear every day shouldn’t harm our bodies or the planet. Apparel that’s free from microplastics is better for our health and for the environment, and it doesn’t mean we have to give up style or comfort. Read more>>

Right now, I’m committed to raising money to help the families in Jamaica. I was there three days before hurricane Melissa hit. I fell in love with the country the culture, the food, and the environment. Seeing it be destroyed days after visiting is a complete shock to me still. So I’m committed to helping raise money to rebuild back Jamaica. Read more>>

As a social worker, I’ve witnessed a wide range of heartbreak in the field, but one population that has captured my heart is youth in the foster care system. I’ve fully committed to the project of myself as an artist. Without a blue print on how to become well-known in the art world, there’s no clear timeline on ‘how long it takes.’ I continue to develop my technical skills and concept of work, with a strong focus on better understanding marketing. This is always evolving, but right now I’m focused on centralizing Berbay’s data to drive smarter, faster business decisions. We have so many valuable data points—profit/loss, client profitability, overservicing, prospects, leads—but they weren’t connected in one place to deliver real insight. I’ve been building an infrastructure that unifies our data, and it’s going to be game-changing. Read more>>

I’m committed to helping women return to themselves. That’s the heartbeat of everything I do. Whether it’s through therapy, coaching, or speaking, my mission is to guide women back to the truth that they are not broken—they’re becoming. Too many of us have learned to measure our worth by productivity, perfection, or proximity to someone else’s definition of success. Read more>>

The project I’m most committed to, no matter how long it takes, is my own development as a person and an artist. I truly believe that anyone who wants to be an actor or artist can do it.
