Creativity is constant, like a flowing river. Imagine you are a writer who is given a task to write a work of fiction about a magical world with a robust plotline and fanciful characters. How would you go about starting? Pen to paper straight away and write the entire novel? Or would you research, read inspiring works, and plan? Likely, you would map out your entire novel first by reading similar stories and creating a rubric for your own story. You could even go outside of writing and explore visual arts, performing arts, and architecture. I turn to things outside of graphic design to help inspire me when I am in an artistic rut. I never know what will speak to me in various media forms to ignite that creative spark. Read more>>

change and adventure. sometimes we get stuck in our ways and cannot seem to find a way out. we use the same brushes, the same words, the same techniques to create the same feeling. but we forget that there are so many more things that what we know. there are endless stories and i believe, that as a creative we shall seek out those stories and tell them. connect and expand and make them known. when i feel stuck, i like to travel. see the ocean, meet new people, connect with an animal or tree or just simply existing in a foreign space. and most of the time, i find the missing piece. After getting out of the military in 2011 I was lost. The previously creative and resilient young man was now void of the confidence required to be oneself. For a decade I fought to regain the joy of life I once knew, to be the happy Father my children needed. Music is my lifestyle. I started playing the piano when I was 5 years old and I am 30 years old now, so that mean I have been playing the piano for more than 25 years. The piano is totally inherent in my life. I think my albums will be my legacy and also I am presenting my albums doing concerts.
I will release an album called ‘’Heaven’’ soon. In this album I am playing with my couple Sol Escobar (Singer) and also with Félix Rossy (Trumpet), Jaume Ferrer (Tenor Sax) Juan Pablo Eguskiza (Double Bass the first day), Manuel Luque (Double Bass the second day), Luis ‘’Chul’’ Miranda (Drums) and Víctor de Diego (Tenor Sax) like special guest. I record it at Underpool Studio, with Sergi Felipe, who did an amazing work. In Barcelona, Spain, the city where I lived for 8 years and where I did my Piano Jazz Undergraduate program at Liceu’s Conservatory with tutors like Albert Bover and Roger Mas and amazing profesors like Horacio Fumero, Jordi Bonell, Marco Mezquida, Toni Vaquer, Iñaki Sandoval, Dani Pérez, Giulia Valle, David Mengual, Víctor de Diego, Llibert Fortuny… among others. Great question. Artists, I cannot stress this enough: you must make the disciplined effort to be around art to fuel your creativity. I’m convinced starting from childhood we all have a God-given well of creativity to draw from. After a certain point, it’s up to you to keep the well full. Consume as much creativity as you can from others, draw from what makes your inner child happy. Want a hack to clear an overcrowded, art-blocked mind? Go be in nature; the Creator is a great source of inspiration. Read more>>

Three things come to mind for me.
1. I stay curious! I love learning, and as an artist and songwriter, I make it a point to fill my creative well. Often, that means consuming other art, such as books, movies, and music (listening actively versus passively). But a song could come from anywhere: a YouTube video or a conversation. I try to keep my ear open for song ideas. I also explore my creativity in other ways, like cooking. I love trying new recipes. Read more>>

The simple answer for me is to just live life and immerse myself in new art. I am young, and so I understand that there is a lot of room for me to grow as a person, and for me, personal growth is the spark of creativity. Being an artist is to be a sponge for the world around you, and so immersing myself in unfamiliar art, in any medium, is another way for me to keep my creativity going because whenever I experience great art, I am reminded of why I do what I do, and what to strive for as an artist. A lot of my most creative moments as a film editor comes from not just pulling inspiration from another film, but rather pulling more abstract ideas from unlikely sources, like the shape of a piece of music, or the tone of my neighbor’s conversation I overheard a few weeks ago. When I work on my art my creative mindset often feels like an interpretive collage of the creativity around me. I easily get inspired and sometimes I just let the music paint a story. For me in the digital arts and design space experimentation is key. When I run out of ideas I often like to visit a contemporary museum around me or consume art to find inspiration. Learning new skills and techniques is also beneficial because it motivates me to try them on new content I am working on. Read more>>

Creativity is a way of life for me. It is such a part of me that I never think of it as something to work on or keep alive. It truly is who I am and the only challenge is finding the tools and skills to express my creative impulses. These are triggered by experiencing the world with curiosity and an infinite appreciation for beauty. I practice creativity as I walk, talk, cook, drive, garden, dress, decorate, plan vacations, and make financial or other serious decisions. I am never satisfied with the most obvious answer and continuously search for alternative and better ways to approach a particular project or problem. Life’s struggles, necessities, and constraints have taught me creativity as a survival skill. Read more>>

To keep my creativity alive, I constantly seek inspiration in the everyday world that surrounds me. I believe that creativity is not confined to specific moments or grand ideas but is woven into the fabric of our daily experiences. Whether it’s the intricate patterns of an oak tree’s bark, the rhythmic hum of a car tire on a road, or the sleek design of a ballpoint pen—these seemingly ordinary objects can be gateways to limitless imagination when observed with curiosity. My creativity is deeply rooted in my connection to nature, a bond that has shaped both my personal and professional journey. Growing up in a rural area in China, surrounded by mountains and rivers, I developed an innate appreciation for the delicate interplay between the built environment and the natural world. Those early experiences instilled in me a habit of observing the small details—how light filtered through the trees, how water carved its way through stone, or how a breeze could alter the atmosphere of a space. These observations became the seeds of my creative process. Read more>>
