What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?

We’ve been working on our publication and platform for almost a decade because we deeply believe that the world will be a far more empathetic and collaborative place if we all had the ability to know each other’s stories. The past decade has brought unimaginable challenges along the way, but we persevere because we believe this is mission worth never giving up on. We often are inspired by the folks we’ve featured and their commitment to their respective missions and so we asked some of them to talk to us about this very topic and have share some responses below.

No matter what, truth and justice matter. In all enterprises involving art and life, honesty is crucial. This often means being honest with ourselves as well. I think that I am ultimately committed to my goal of “making it big” and making an impact within the entertainment industry. Despite my struggles with self-doubt at times, there must be a small (or large) part of me who believes that I can make it. That part of myself seems to continue driving me forward, even when things are hard. Read more>>

At this stage in my life I’m pretty much married to the pilot I directed for ‘Dorian’. It’s a contemporary retelling of Oscar Wilde’s ‘Picture of Dorian Gray’, re-imagined as a limited series. I think we have a great angle on the story, which lends itself perfectly to a Gen-Z retelling. Read more>>

A belief I’m committed to—no matter how long it takes—is that women living with autoimmune disorders deserve to be seen, heard, supported, and empowered. One of my recent passions is making opera more accessible. Many people tell me they avoid going to opera because they “don’t have the right outfit.” I’ve made it my mission to break that myth. A belief I’m deeply committed to is designing for human well-being. The tech world often chases speed, productivity, and efficiency, which can feel necessary in a fast-moving industry.
