I try to keep my creativity alive by staying consistent with these strategies: I explore new interests and hobbies to gain new experiences which helps spark fresh ideas. My current hobbies are collecting Pokémon cards, building Legos, and I’m a vinyl collector. New hobbies that I’m getting into are producing beats, learning more about FL studio, and practicing more with my MPK mini. I set aside time to be creative in these moments. Read more>>

I try to take a breath and find inspiration in everything. From an excerpt from a love poem to the sound of a stream trickling through the forest during a morning hike, I find myself getting inspired, and I’ll have moments where I envision a potential moment that could take place. Perhaps, that love poem mentions that feeling a person has waking up on a quiet Sunday morning with their favorite person, or maybe that gentle stream reminds me of how it feels to be really young and free again, and a photographic story is born in my mind from those moments. Creativity, in itself, is more than just a thought or an idea on paper. It is a way of life. The goal of being creative usually ends with completing a project. When it comes to completing a project, there’s typically trial and error and or, new and improved skills involved. With that being said, to keep my creativity alive and growing, I have to change the “ project “ sometimes to change my perspective and, or improve a skill set.  Read more>>

After over 20 years in the marketing industry and my experience creating content in multiple platforms, styles, and mediums I can say the intentional steps I take to keep my creativity alive is an essential part of my success and the success of my clients and students. Finding creativity and inspiration is honestly something that is very difficult even for someone like me who has been playing music since I was 7 years old. For me, I can’t force myself to be creative. Instead ideas usually find me when I least expect it. I could be walking down the street to get groceries, when all the sudden an entire song pops in my head and I have to get the rough idea quickly recorded before I forget it.  Read more>>

I fell in love with acting after watching the entire cast of Good Will Hunting. I think that movie is essential to anybody who’s ever wanted to change everything but is terrified of anything changing. Robin Williams is a creative hero of mine and the performances are flawless I mean even the process of how that got made is the perfect example of this will happen if you never stop working at it which is something I have to remind myself of from time to time. Going back to these moments and and most importantly going back to the “why” in anything you do is how I keep any creativity alive. Read more>>

Variety. It’s very easy as an artist to get stuck in a bit of a rut, especially with pressures from Social Media. I used to spend a lot of time comparing myself to others and allowing the pressure from trying to please an algorithm by doing the same thing every day. Creativity is something that comes pretty natural to me. I feel it’s a gift God has blessed me with. I am originally from West Virginia and my creativity is rooted from growing up there. I learned at a young age to take what I had and to be resourceful. That skill is something that has followed me all of my life. I think anyone can spend millions of dollars to create something amazing, but I think people who have less can also create something equally awesome due to their creativity, ingenuity, and imagination. Many people see me as a perfect human being—someone who excels in people management, music delivery, and so many other things. But the truth is, that’s not the case in my private life. Consistency! As an actor, dry spells can happen. When I’ve gone a few weeks without a booking, I still make sure I’m submitting auditions, helping out with table reads, auditioning for student films, or doing anything I can to stay sharp in these down times.
